Finding it pretty easy to keep my powder dry on hardware this BF. Some usually half decent shops like Andertons seem to have forgotten you’re supposed to drop prices at BF rather than put them up.

I just scored MPC One. About $20 cheaper! With such a discount, it's like free
tbh I didn't want to buy it this month, but who knows how long the equipment will be available in shops. My wife wanted to buy iPhone, and new models are not available here anymore. It's getting better and better.

I received Mackie Onyx 24 mixer, and I don't know how it's possible, but everything sounds way better than when it was plugged directly into Focusrite interface. The difference is huge. Especially RD-9, which was also connected through a cheap Behringer mixer worth 50 quid (separate output per channel). Like for real... in comparison, the sound was more flat than Flat Eric. Now it 'sounds like a record'. I have no idea why there's so much difference. Both Focusrite and Mackie should be relatively 'transparent', especially since I'm using only line signals.

Just got this in the mail today. Be a few days before I got time to check it out properly though.

An interesting take on Eurorack case flexibility/adaptability, and a nice power supply and distribution alternative. Clever. {imo}

That looks perfect… and I might order. I only see a shop in EU offering pre-orders.

I want the 4 pack but I see it only comes fully assembled. I like the idea of stacking it 9U or even 12U and I know it’s possible, but are there enough sidings if I stack it 12U high? Might have to buy and ask questions later

Very flexible and I love that you store away what’s not in use

3u of 312 hp might be cool to stack the mantids on top...

i think i will leave that idea till the end of the recession. already worried about being able to afford to power what i have. seriously considering ditching the internet to save some cash.

The voice of reason… Might be smarter to wait.

It is cool to see they’re looking to expand the line with 1U options and a 6U case, plus lids down the line.

I’m curious to know what kind of lids they’re going for. Are the going to just rest on top, or will there be a locking mechanism and room to leave patch cables in?

on the mantis, provided it's all in one, cables can be left under the cover. obviously cables across cases have to be unplugged.
not sure how it would work on one of these if you go wide? will it be one single cover for 208 for example?

I’ve been looking at case options today. Flirted with the idea of getting some mahoosive wide case, but ended up just ordering an 84hp Behringer rack thing for £90. It’ll be enough expansion room for now, I’ll worry about what more I may need as and when. Also ordered these, should be a fun combo for my growing rhythm section.

The T Network drums sound a bit blippy bloppy like 808 toms on their own, but the fun comes when you put audio through instead of a trigger, they act like filters. So you can do some weird things with different sound sources including feed the signals from the drums into each other.

The Kompas is basically a Grids with fewer controls, but I’m hoping it’s less biased towards kick/snare/hat type patterns and will share the love around the different outputs more.

To round things out I’d really like a Befaco Noise Plethora and a WMD Crucible but I’ll have to wait to pick those up used as just those two together would be about £600.

Mini splurge continues (got some back pay from April), think this module could be a fun one…

…basically like having three independent loopers for CV record and playback

i could do with a knob recorder, with looped playback of all my moves,
she deserves more than 20 seconds

I mean there are ‘bedroom machines’ you can buy and I guess you could have the speed change play back via recorded CV so technically, why not? :)

I really like knob recorders. I frequently use my Planar2 for that function alone. I liked that Dnipro's Krait could be synced to tempo. I also thought that the CV/knob recording functions on Squarp's Hermod were great. I wish there were more options in this area. Patching Panda also has a cool CV recorder.

I have got the ability to record and playback CV through the DAW but it’ll be nice to have a way to do it as and when I want while jamming.

After a busy purchase year, I think I managed to keep it mostly under control.

I ordered a SOMA Ether v2 and then picked up the RE-2. Both on discount.
