I don't know why those sensitive BW fanboys are over-reacting to one person's posts over and over. In Cubase thread big boys are ignoring with no problem about even unreasonable kids' posts.
Who was the person who produced the video? Using clunky Creative camera, cheap Samsung laptop and unattractive actor isn't going to do any good for you!

Sorry I took you out of context, I figured what you had already said in the thread made it clear where you were coming from, but ok.
Well it would be cynical to declare that stuff with the surety that you did if it turns out to be be false. Remember you didn't simply say that it was over-hyped and won't live up to it.I may indeed be wrong about it being a failure or not being released this year, but it's not cynical to think it was overhyped and won't live up to it. There's just way too much missing TO live up to it.

Sorry, just read a few comments. Are you guys saying there's no side-chaining in Bitwig? What are they thinking?
Does anyone know more about this? I.e is it going to be implemented?
I know there's tons of other ways to do volume automation, I just happen to like side-chaining.

AFAICT from earlier trade show demos, the internals of Bitwig are built using the full modular environment that we will eventually have access to in v2.0.
I can't believe that this environment doesn't allow the signal to be passed freely between objects (whether tracks, VST plugins, or Bitwig devices).
So, I would guess with 99% certainty that plugin side chaining is not implemented at the user level yet simply due to time.
Peace,
Andy.

I'll add to this..,
Theo might be right on many points. Yes they may still release before the end of the year, but the number of omissions for features is surprising to say the least for a version 1.
I'm still interested in BW but not until those feature are included. There's no way I'd pay for the novelty of being an owner from version 1 if I can't use it until version 2. For me the biggest feature left off is video playback. It's my primary use for still using a DAW.
I am still excited to the eventual release but this discussion helped reaffirm my focus in continuing to use Live. I really like their approach to hosting plugins as well as the routing options that will only get better in time. But for now... Well for now we still wait.

The idea is to probably do what it already does so well that some other stuff not there yet maybe won't matter so much in proper context. That's my theory anyway... that if you can really excel at some things people maybe won't mind waiting so much for the rest. It mostly depends on how patient those users are, how different people will feel about all that.
They'll certainly find a user base as it is. No real doubt about that. The only really big mystery left is the price.

FTFY.the number of omissions IN THE CURRENT BETA VERSION for features is surprising to say the least for a version 1.
It's not complete yet. Beta 7 added quite a few features not in beta 6. Based on Dom's earlier post, it sounds like Beta 8 is going to add even more features.
Basically, v1.0 is not feature complete yet but we can only speculate about what will be included. IMO, VST side chain input is highly likely, otherwise a whole class of plugins (Compressors) are basically useless, not to mention lots of FX.
Peace,
Andy.

Ok, we've been over and over this stuff. You think it's a joke, plenty of us are still excited for it. You think it doesn't have the basics, plenty of us are going to get by without that stuff. You think it won't be released on time, we have yet to see. You think v2 won't come out for years, we have yet to see. You think the devs should have got more done with their time, but I doubt you understand what it takes to build what they have or what their process is. You think it will be a failure, we have yet to see. It's all getting pretty old. You said you wouldn't say anything else (for the second time), nobody is egging you on and yet here you are still, promising us all what you don't know, and peppering it with lolz. You've said some relevant stuff as I said before, but there really is a lot of noise in there too and unlike your anonymous fanclub I don't see the point in persisting like this. We are not Bitwig's Witnesses in here. If anything the prevailing trend has been negative for a long time, saying that it was vapourware and such, now we finally get to see a glimpse of it and see that some haters jumped to conclusions, and apparently that qualifies as some fanboi orgy that you deserve a pat on the back for having the guts to crush... jeez.TheoM wrote:And version 2 would be in your best guess... perhaps 2018? There's that excuse for them again, time. So five full time devs can't release a competitive product in years? If it had made it's original "coming soon" notice that has been there for over 2 years (in no one's definition can 2 years mean "soon") and had actually come soon, then as it is right now it would have been an acceptable first release. All the delays for *this* ? really? Who does that? Even steven slate does not say coming soon and deliver almost three years later. No one does. So we know now it's not vapourware, fine, but then i am told i am cynical, after they said coming soon, and it hasn't, to suspect it won't meet it's Xmas target release date.. correction.. promise.
Yeah, and that is a great example for you of how to express an opinion in a reasonable way and be done with it. Count the number of people that jump on his back.TheoM wrote:elxsound wrote:I'll add to this..,
