Thanks Waiting man!
NN-XT ones should be OK in Reason 2.5 ?

Post

you're the welcome pd. :)
there are nn-xt patches as well (full kits and single pieces to build) so it works from 2.0.

the only downside is when using the multichannel patches, you have some cablework to do to add eqs or compressors to each stereo channel. but you can always save it as a song file.

thanks, d'loading now :D

Nice playing! I'm definitely finding Kit 2 much more appealing to play than Kit 1 -- I've not quite sussed out why, though.

Wow thanks for being so generous Salavatore.

Can somone refresh my memory how to set up the Dr008 patch and sample folders for this kit. The Dr008 load browser sees the dr8 file but then a dialog asks for the samples indicated to be on drive H - here I have them on my C drive with the rest of of my Dr008 kits.

Post

Just point the sample searchíng dialog to the files, Gordon.
If you don't want to do it again and again for each drum hit type, put all the samples in one single folder.

OK I manually pointed it to each sample. I forgot that I could put them all in one folder. Man this a great sounding kit - best kit in Dr008 I have heard. Almost up to BFD quality. :D :D

Yes, it's a truly nice kit.
I'm up to something else with it, no idea whether it'll work out fine...

8) It is a wonderful kit. Curious what you're trying now, like others are...
It's even fine for learning your sampler, I'm completely new to Kontakt and try things out with this kit, nice.

In a nutshell, I'm trying to emulate what Battery is doing with the latest factory presets. Sending all samples through a reverb and then mapping those in addition so you can drag them up/down to your likings (BFD style). The outcome so far has been pretty nice but in the end it'll require another remapping - and I don't even want to type that word anymore.

Firstly I must say that this kit sounds great.
I loaded Kit 1 into Kompakt using the Battery template thingy.
It took a little time but it found all the samples eventually.

Now I don't want to 'look a gift horse in the mouth' as the saying goes but......

I noticed that the Toms are a fair bit quieter than most other things (snare, kit, hats, etc..)

Now is this just perhaps because of some quirk of importing a battery kit into Kompakt - maybe something to do with velocities getting screwed up.....

or are they just plain quieter??

oddbods finger, I didn't fool around much with the volume settings when doing the Battery kits, so you're probably right (no, you are indeed, I just tried). However, in Battery they're organized in rows, so adjusting their volume balance is like a two click operation.
I *could* come up with a different Kontakt patch. Would you like to have all the drums separated in single patches? That way you would just load them into different Kompakt slots but use the same MIDI channel for all of the slots.

Let me know if that'd be of any help and I might give it a try later on.
I could do individual patches for kick, snares, hats, cymbals and toms. Sounds fair?

Allright, did it just the way I mentioned:
http://home.arcor.de/s.franck/temp/Batt ... Extras.zip
There's Battery (1) files for each instrument group and two Kompakt multis with the individual instruments spread over 5 slots inside the zip.

Cheers Sascha,

If that's the best way to get the volume of the toms up to the rest of the kit then that would be great.
....although just boosting up the toms to the level of the snare/kick/etc... would be good

I'll leave it to you....I don't know what's easier for you.
