Wow, Guido, this seems to be another gem made by a genius!
Will try the beta later on, not that easy on tour...

It's weird, but I find the initial attack much less convincing than the latter half of the note - the long notes in particular end up sounding quite realistic. The short note phrases don't do it for me.
My 2 cents!

http://www.gmlab.it/_temp/MilesTone_b5.zip
Date: Feb 04, 2006
- Completely modified the tube model, resulting in a more realistic behaviour
- The pitch bend is smoother and almost linear, interacts with tube resonance
- Overall sound slightly brighter and less plastic
And a small song just recorded with b5, jamstix, a sampled bass and one of my "leftovers"

Hi Guido, this is a nice beta...a bit brighter than the last. I don't like the pitch bend at all...not like a trumpet at all...more like a synth. The old pitch bend was quite realistic. Is there a way to allow us the user to have a brightness control...because I really like the tone of B4...a bit more intimate and darker, but I also really like the brighter tones also. Maybe include a switch to have either the realistic pitch bend or if others want a smooth pitch bend include that also. Thank you for all of your hard work!

actually come to think of it i already did a good example in my last demo, real vs milestone. you can hear full step down pitch bends done smoothly in a couple sections followed by milestone being unable to do the same, hopefully i can post new demos with the new neta and illustrate how its working now.

Thought you might like to hear this:
http://www.gregjazz.com/upload/SSUpiece.mp3
It's a piece I wrote for auditions for scholarships (I'm just going to hand in a recording rather than doing a performance). Unfortunately I left the sheet music in my locker so I don't remember how the B section goes--hence the vibes solo.
Originally the sax and trumpet were only going to be temporary, I would replace them with recordings... but it's sounding good I think, so I might just go with the 100% synthesized version.

Now the beta is just like I dreamed of. No more requests from me
I can hear that you have added:
Lip noise (especially at soft sounds)
Struck notes at random. (Those are softer).
Pitch gets higher at higher pressure/modwheel. (Just like it should). Its very subtle and nice.
There is a realistic cut off noise at the end of sound.
The bender is fantastic for bends over 2 semitones. (How did you do that? Have you quantisized the bender signal or the bender midi-data).
The sound is brighter.
CPU is still low.
What more could you ask for?
OK, the only thing I can think of is slower attack on the pitched part of the sound at low velocity. Then the wind noise will sound before the pitched part. (Not controlled from expession but from velocity).
I add more wind noise when I play than there is in the presets. ( I like it at 70%).
This is amazing work! Dont change much from this beta! This is it!
All the best

Hmmm... I don't like Beta5 as much as previous ... Weird
Seems to have lost the high-end and now sounds like 2 trumpets playin' in sync.... still, your (Zio) mp3 was nice
hehe .... Maybe I need a real breath controller!
