No, doesn't even seem to exist in the area of the world I'm living in.
you should seriously consider it when you get your laptop
it has most of the things you just wished for.. and lots lots more

best workflow of any sequencer and powerful audio editing

I know where to get a crossgrade for less than £150
you just need to own Logic (any version), or Sonar, etc..

But spaceman, why are you praising Logic then?

Thanks Sascha!

what's the connection?

We all have different wishes and needs.. you seem to value certain functionality and reading your posts it seems DP might be very suitable for you. I myself mostly use it for it's audio editing, and simply to be in a different environment for a while.. but Logic is the one I feel most comfortable in.

but as I said, you might be surprised by it and value it's workflow and millions of great features even more than I do and actually prefer it over Logic

Hm... will see.
It's gonna take a while until I'll be getting my MacBook anyways.

Now ST is gonna listen to logic, EXT and tracktion fanboys to make the ubber host.
I hope not, i fear Emagic listened to their users and everybody knows what happened there.
Let's the SX users at their forum with registered dongles, true supporters of the Industry, have their say on this one, I vote for save offline processing as batch and batch track rendering.

You guys are killing me... btw can you see me???

DP seems like a good program but is much to heavy on the cpu. If you don't have a top end machine you can't do much.
It is far from the cpu eficiency of the Logic being almost twice heavier on the cpu. Its interface is also a bit austere.

Thanks for the screenshots, spaceman. No idea whether I like them - should try it out whenever possible.

Good to know, OMU. And well, I actually don't think I'll be switching sequencers anyways. I mean, being able to work with an up to date version of Logic is the entire reason I'm gonna buy a Mac for.

And: I can see you fine there, stag. There just not all that much to see.

I know :)

To bad it's gonna take until late autumn it seems. On the positive side of things: Most MacTel issues should be sorted by then (at least those relevant for me).

Hehe, I'm allready angry though. I mean, hey, over 2000 bucks for a laptop with just 2 USB ports? They're still crazy there in Cupertino.

And no firewire 800. (And no s-video out)
Some things come some things go...

Yeah, really dunno what they expect us to use as audiointerfaces. For those you would like all possible bandwidth there is... USB 2.0 has made a big leap from 1.0, but still, it seems to be taxing the system a bit more than FW800.

I also just hate the fact they abandoned cardbus II type slots. It seems there will be adapters, but that's just another uncomfortable thing. Same for PC laptops btw., the one I originally wanted to buy had no cardbus slot anymore - no way for me, owning both a Hammerfall PCMCIA and an Indigo I/O.

um...for like 20 bucks you can get the dvi to video adapter, which has an S-video as well as a composite video connection.

adapters adapters adapters...
And all that was there before, that's my argument.
After spending 3000 euros on a MacBook (considering the previous (PowerBook) versions did have those ports)it's ridiculous that you have to spend 20 buck on some adapter...
Bad for them.
