If someone can help compile all of the other threads outside of KVR that is always helpful so people can go visit and keep those threads alive.
Here's some extras that I've participated in so far:
GearSlutz
http://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-co ... ost4852625
VDrums.com
http://www.vdrums.com/forum/showthread. ... post450347
What others are going on? The more threads on forums, blogs and other places you can post about this the more people will join and the more you'll get for the money. We have a whole month to break the record if you want to!

Sounds great! And yes, using one of the new MIDI-files would be great I think.Squids wrote:Hmmm. Okay, maybe what I'll do is a very short demo for each kit on the Drum Masters 2 side that has a few fills in it too so you can hear the overall sound of the kit quickly to decide if that's the drum sound you want to load. That can act as an overall demo for people wanting to know what each kit sounds like when they buy but also useful after you bought it if we make it available to download for "pre-auditioning" before loading. This has come up before and actually it's something we were working on for sound effects (because we have a sound effects workstation with hundreds of thousands of sounds and quick auditioning is helpful) but it's pretty good for just about everything. I think we'll try to do that for as many things as possible starting with the kits in this group buy. How does that sound?trueparadox wrote:Thanks reverendChester Desmond wrote:A fine idea, yes, but what about this snare with that kick or this ride with that floor tom etc ad infinitum!!Reverend Rhythm wrote:That's a great idea! And yes, it will be a simple set of examples - it is only meant to quickly get the feel of which kit would work. Only for the basic kit configs.
And the contest sounds like a wonderful idea too. Nice one!

It doesn't seem like people took my comments the way I meant them! I didn't mean it was a bad idea or anything, I meant it more like "you do realize that you would only be scratching the surface of a bottomless lake, right?"
To me, the best way to do this sort of thing would be with something like EZplayer Pro (hint, hint
)..then you could change the pattern and\or kit\pieces interactively in real time without having to render an audio file at all! Let the pattern play and audition each snare etc...or wonder how this snare would sound in a jazz groove..
infinite layers of infinity now.....
Having said that, the contest sounds cool too.

That's what I understood to mean. No offence taken.Chester Desmond wrote:I meant it more like "you do realize that you would only be scratching the surface of a bottomless lake, right?"
I think the Contest is a great idea!

You're the man! No... you're the squid!Squids wrote:I'm doing new demos of each of them so you have a demo for each kit. I'll have that done by Monday. Some of the best sounding kits in this don't even have demos yet. So if you like what you hear so far... it's only going to get better than you might expect.
I really appreciate that you are seriously planning demos for each kit. That is going to be immensely useful for all of us. Also glad that you are planning to do that from now on, for all your products. I think that is a great idea.
Now you're on to something!Squids wrote:...you can take some of the killer MIDI GROOVES that come with the package... oh wait, I should use these demos to also show what the awesome midi grooves in the bundle sound like as well. Wheels turning here.
That's a fantastic idea. I'm in for sure! And I think you really SHOULD consider calling it Kit Kontest. Why not?Squids wrote:Well, how about a kit contest (kit kontest? Don't worry... I won't call it that!!!!). All the users from this Group Buy can make their own custom kits and it is SUPER easy and we'll show you how. Then we'll gather them all up and let EVERYONE in the Group Buy have those presets (they are small because they are just NKM files) and THEN we'll vote for which ones were the overall favorites. The top 10 kits out of however many are made will be 10 prizes of $50 in epointz each (that's credit on the site). You can make as many kits as you want to be entered into the contest but you can only win once and then it goes to the next popular kit's creator down the list.
I think that will be fun, it will get everyone used to how the product works in that way and... well, everyone will benefit from tons of hybrid kit patches ad infinitum.![]()
What do you think of that idea? Up for a challenge?

Got some good news. Confirmation that ALL of the kits in this bundle, including the OWD kits will have all the new V-Drum/E-Drum features including round robin, custom kit mapping to any e-Drum kit you have, GM, iMap... the works.
Check it out:

Keep in mind that for now this is exclusive only for this group buy AND that this "Ultimate Studio Drums" bundle with Ocean Way Drums and Drum Masters 2 is a one time thing! It is not a permanent product. So if you ever wanted a cross between the two for a really good price ($119 at the moment and looks like it will be $99 in the end) then this is your chance. I know I don't need to hard sell it you all here because most of you seem to know if you want it or not without me having to mention that. But in case anyone is on the fence at least they won't be kicking themselves later when it is no longer available at this price or even at all.
But, while the cool look of the plug-in in the above image will not be around forever I DO think there's a good chance the full Ocean Way Drums DL series WILL at least get these V-Drum/E-Drum features. I'm not sure when or if that is a definite but so you don't think this is the ONLY chance to get those features... that may or may not be the case. BUT this is the only chance to have that GUI and the kits working in the Infinite Player. That for sure is a one off situation and we were very lucky to have that window of opportunity to do that this one time! You might as well take advantage of it since the price is right.

If you guys can reach 300 then you can have the EZ Player Pro for FREE (that's a $50 item right there). But, the way we'll have to do it is offer it to you and you have to enter a form to get it. As long as we hit 300 though you will be able to get it! How's that?Chester Desmond wrote:It doesn't seem like people took my comments the way I meant them! Oh and to add some spice to the kit contest, the grand prize winner will have their choice of Drum Masters 2 Signature Drum Kits Vol. 2 OR Ocean Way Drums DL Edition on top of their $50 in epointz. A little extra incentive to make everyone's FAVORITE sounding kit!

That is one deluxe independent marketing post! Some people don't even know you do that on your own! But I am sure it is appreciated by many. Did you have the main image for the group buy before in there? If not we can get it to you. It'd be good to have the black and the blue with the new logos (even though I also like what you did with the drum sticks and the Studio ProFiles logo... maybe both? Ours at the end?).bronxsound wrote:

The guy on the toilet and the muppet was a nice touch. Maybe not something we'd do officially but if it makes a few smiles for the group buy then... all the better. Thanks Bronxsound for your support, creativity and enthusiasm in these group buys.
