Still plain triangle waves, nothing fancy.
My other sounds are also quite "out of the box", rather dull in contrast to what I've already heard in the uploaded contributions.
Guess my tune doesn't stand a real chance, but I try at least.

"Dabei sein ist alles."

stay tuned

Ah.clem, you're right ... the quality of the OSC tracks seems to get better and better ..... I think with only 3 days to go, it will be a little daunting to put a track together to compete with whats in there, but it's not all about winning ... more about discovery and keeping those wheels in motion by having to write music, albeit with limitations on what you can use.

So I wouldn't worry an awful lot, you might want to go have a look at the OSC12 voting thread and get an idea of what wins different folks votes from different folks, or you could ignore all that and do something *you* like.

Alternatively, you could give yoursself an easier way in by waiting for the next comp to start .... and then you'll have loads more time .... or you could do both! :)

The synth for OSC14 will be decided tonight ... so far, we know it'll be a B.Serrano synth, but which??

OK, thats my track uploaded :)

Host: FL8

Sounds: 19x Synth1

Fx: 3x mda Dynamics, 1x plate reverb (Christian Budde)

No automation

Strange doing this track, I ended up ditching a load of phrases when the track headed in a fairly Chinese direction, and the dilemma was whether to work a way back to the first parts, or to carry on the way things were taking me .. so I held with it, and found no need for the original first 2 minutes ... it only struck me much later that the developers site is Chinese! Coincidence? Subliminal influence or what?? ( cue Grateful Dead twilight zone theme riff!! :hihi: )

Er... That'd be Japanese
Yes, it's strange how music takes its own direction and takes us with it sometimes :) I'm really curious to listen to it, I'm sure it'll be great like all your stuff :)

From a b.serrano shortlist I take it? Or will it be a free choice?

I use it all the time), ADT http://www.kvraudio.com/get/3549.html, Rubytube http://www.silverspike.com/?Products:RubyTube (I use it all the time), Antress Exciter, Mo Verb http://www.rhythm-lab.com/plugins/mo_verb (that's donationware, but I believe that's within the rules (even if I did donate something)), Epic verb http://www.kvraudio.com/get/3587.html

Other minor stuff, I guess, but I don't pay much attention as anything I use is freeware (with the exception of what I won in one of the past OSC's and Maxsynth's beautiful Cryologic), otherwise I couldn't afford it ;) so I don't have to pay particular attention while choosing for the OSC :P
Thanks. :) Yeah I forgot about Moverb now being elligable, quite a nice verb that, especially for those huge super long-tailers. Rubytube I'll definitely try out.

So you've done all your albums with freeware mostly? Impressive.

I saw somewhere an online DnD dice roller :D

Kaiyoti's presets I guess. If we have such wonderful sounds there is no need to invent :D Haven't listened myself as I don't want to spoil my sleep
Indeed it was a Kaiyoti preset! These are brilliant and I was stunned when I first heard them. I was amazed they came from a synth1. That guy is a genius! :)

Yea I've been looking and trying for years to make or find a good sample of a really deep drum, and out pops a perfect one from a free synth (thunder bass drum patch).

If you consider that Max was crazy and generous enough to give me his Cryologic for free (as we're both Italian and email friends and all), I can say that yes, any instrument and fx I use is freeware, which I guess proves the amazing quality of freeware and how truly generous the developers are - it's not like they're giving away crap, it's quality stuff!!!!!
:-o

just posted on the rogue thread that i'll be rolling the dice in less than 1 hour ... results will be reported live!

Meanwhile, I'm just gonna trawl back and see which of the B.serrano synths have had most endorsements. I'll report my findings, and will set a deadline ... probably midnight GMT by which time a decision will have to be made ... so now is a good time to add your weight to the issue! :)

Post

Phew .... quite a task! .... but anyway, from what I've noted since first mention of B.Serrano synths,
...
Adonis gets 3 endorsements
Anubis, Eclipse2, and Phobos ( if I add my own preference ) get 2 each,
and Artemis gets 1

I thought there were more endorsements, but maybe I got confused because there are a number of folks have chimed in in support of any B.Serrano synth ... or, it's possible i've missed something ( though i dont believe i have.

Anyway ... two hours left to make a difference, otherwise we're gonna be cursing ourselves for taking on the might of Adonis!!

.... meanwhile, I'm gonna start rolling the dice over at the OSC12 vote thread to decide the best of the bottom dwellers! :hihi:
