I don't think it gets lost and it also affects the way you mix, the end result will inevitably be different
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

From what I heard from examples posted, it doesn't get lost in usual MP3 compression. The characters are still very well present and quite apparent. Youtube videos, however, are a lot more aggressive in their audio compression and this could get lost. But I won't chalk it off just because it doesn't show noticeable differences on streaming videos. There are a lot more things that get lost there anyway.
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

@slate:

- make a free VCC version containing: 4k, no oversampling, no grouping, no automation

- point out that the retail version contains 6 more consoles, + oversampling, + grouping, + automation

- extend the free ilok2 special up to 60 days

Should get your baby rolling!

Er... so far there are only 4 consoles available, not 6.

there'll be 7 in the end: 4k, 9k, api, tubey, neotek/frankentec, neve, trident

I know that (from alpha reports), but so far there is NO SIGN of an upgrade pack to purchase, and it's not clear if the console number will remain 7 or will be higher.

So please let's just focus on what's "available" for the time being.

Hm, somehow i get the feeling you are simply trying to prevent slate from selling the vcc to anybody else but you!? :!:

In my biased mind, I think to myself.. how could anyone NOT want this plugin after hearing what it does to their mixes :D :D

So that's what is in my brain right now.. I just want as many people to hear this thing as possible.
this is precisely why a cut down/demo version without ilok2 or ilok restriction could only be beneficial for your sales.

i am extremely interested in what the vcc could do for my mixes, but i don't have an ilok and can't justify buying an ilok2 to demo a piece of software.

as i stated earlier in this thread, i tried the dongle free poly kb demo and loved it and bought it and a dongle very soon after. i never would have known what it could do without that demo...

Somehow I get the feeling you folks overexaggerate on sh*t (bishop666).

Seriously... official release is four consoles, with more to follow "eventually". The "other desks" and their planned release were only known to those that followed the alpha infomation. They were removed in the beta and they stay removed in the final for the time being.

As long as they are NOT officially announced, Virtual Console Collection consits of four(! - 4 in number) consoles. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why is it so hard to understand that?!

Get off of DECAF.

I think giving away a 'lite' version that includes just one console and limited features would be pretty cool and very good for PR. Not only that, but it would also be great for people that already purchased the plugin so they can use it as a 'rough draft' on the road without needing to have the iLok with them all the time. I also think that when the other consoles are included in the future it will make for a pretty hefty incentive for upgrading.

"Upgrade pack to purchase"? The Tubey and Neotek emulations will be free for users, according to Slate:
Also, we will be adding two more desk emulations as a free update after the final release of the VCC.

That was in OCTOBER 2010!

Way before VCC got massively enhanced. Things change.

Geez, you folks can't be pleased with ANYTHING! You always want more, and more, and more, and more! You're friggin polyps!

I better keep my mouth shut and rather discuss with Steven directly. Saves me all the drama here on KVR.

Grab a lolly folks - you need the sugar more than I do!
