I'm not sure I understand, you are saying you bought (however that works) credits for a purchase but your jam points are not affected?SJ_Digriz wrote:I applied the code in the custom shop, but when I go to purchase and item it just says its going to deduct from the points I bought. I have to say though I'm currently confused.

well that's a bit disappointing IK, if you can use svx uno amp in the free version but i cant use it in the paid for v3.5.. hopefully it's just an oversight.dven wrote:the "restore your gear step" worked to restore all of the freebie products into ATFree3.5, including the ba-500 from x-gear/svx uno. this is on a mac 10.6.7, so not sure if other configs will have the same result. Note: I had to quit ATFree3.5, run the "restore gear" step, and relaunch AT to see the updates.

1) go to ik personal user area and generate a promo code.
2) go to custom shop and add credits
3) enter promo code on the add credits page
4) buy something and get the option to apply credits and/or points
When I try to apply the serial number of the code, it says invalid serial number

I suspect many of their current customers would cave in to temptation and buy this new batch of amp/FX/cab simulations as a single library for a cost comparable to the previous sets (Fender etc). Why mess with instant gratification? This new pricing model with a much higher cost for a comparable collection (albeit cheap for a couple of handpicked items) may lead many not to bother - I don't put my workstation online so it is not even an option for me. If I can't install it in two machines using a laptop for online registration and portability as I do for everything else I will pass. The memory footprint of the dll (particularly with multiple instances) is my other concern. I certainly hope this will be addressed at or before the next major update now that 64 bit support is here.radioegg wrote: Way off the mark? Well first: say that I would like to buy the excact same AMOUNT of gear that is any given previous AT pack. Not the same gear, but the same amount. That would cost way much more than the previous pack, right? I can't even understand how to calculate the costs, IK haven't even included VAT in their prices. But I've understood that it would be way much more expencive
Then there is all the problems with people losing presets, losing previous paid for "gear", AT isn't recogniced, serials don't work, whatever...
And that silly solution with authencification having to be done online...
And then there is the thing with the sky high expectations that IK made from months ago. With so many people complaining, almost none talking about the great new gear, what can one say? I say failure. And I don't want to buy this product. Sorry.
Way off the mark?
If you look at IKs previous marketing behaviour, the new kit is inevitably going to be sold in different ways (bundles etc) and at a discount further down the pike. Those who jump in now are going to pay top dollar.
Meanwhile, for anyone on PC hankering for a new toy/ some retail therapy that won't make their wallet catch fire, the TSE X50 (high gain 5150 style amp) is in beta (PC) and it sounds terrific. Cost: $0.
More? God's Cab 1.2 is up on the Guitar Amp Modeling site if you want/need some more free cab impulses to go with your Redwirez freebies etc. (Mac or PC)
(Don't say no b@st@r$ never gave you nuffin!)

The pricing system doesn't make me happy at all. I own almost every thing they make except the ARC system and their floor pedals.chj wrote:T-Racks already offers singles. Best time to buy is probably right nowelxicano wrote:I'm in the spot as chj... This looks appealing for me since, I don't want all the "bloat" either, and I like the option to pick and choose my components as needed. I already have GR4, which I like mostly for the "FSU"!
I just keep wondering if something similar will be done with TRacks?

As for the Custom Shop, I liked the idea of being able to get just what I wanted and nothing I didn't. But I just did the math and even if I picked components very conservatively, it's much more economical to just get Amplitube 3, especially since I qualify for the crossgrade.
I've been a customer since the first Amplitube live versions. Heck, I don't even remember what it was called. If it is true that amplitube 2 models work in this system then great for those who never updated. Not so great for us that did.

@metal: I can't remember who has helped who doing what....did you get logged in to the custom shop and go to the "account" and use that restore (or whatever it is?) I had to do that for fender to show up and I had to do it as a plug in as well.

Is it possible to use the code for the free one and then use the "restore" to get it up to speed?MickGael wrote:When trying to authorize the update:

According to the "IK" guys extra auths are possible but you'll have to wait for a support ticket most likely.

Hey Chris,
Ye, I've restored 100's of time now in VST and standalone. My fender does show up, Metal and my Stealth pedal does now (even though I'm able to use the stealth pedal in 3.5.1
)
PS: Nope didn't decide anything... just got a mail from CW this morning, promopurchase receipt and already registered in my account, so the decision was made for me. Complaining... not one bit
Can't wait to tuck in!
Total DL will take about 14 hours though
Almost 15 gb

OK, I figured out the jampoints. Of course I screwed myself in the process.
In the Custom Store when you buy your points, there is a promo code field at the bottom. That's where you enter the redeemed code from your jampoints. It will give you up to %50 off whichever number of credits you buy.
So, if you redeem 10 Jam points and enter the resulting code on the 20 Gear Credits purchase, you will get charged $10 instead of $20.
But, you could get the 125 credit for $50 instead of $100, if you redeem 50 credits during the purchase.
