OK, and here I am again with my stupid midi-import problems :D
Just downloaded last beta-version (thanx Attila - you are Super-Rapid Programmer!),
and tried to import another file with Bruckner's strings combined (old chap Anton is one of my favorite composers, sorry :)).
First I tried the version with some CC messages left - same story as before: file loaded but with NO chords and quick crash after any actions on main page later.
Next I killed everything except notes - same story again...(see my 1st image illustrating this problem).
Now I really at a loss - why RC refuses to interpret this "naked notes file"?!
New example attached for ex-post revision ;)

no worry, no problem...
seems cosmetic and harmless one to me.
( also i am glad my

BTW.speaking of the cosmetics ,
that window flashing while click and holding a few second seems gone since b4..
i want to say Thank You for this!

Hi tolstoevsky,
this file is driving RC crazy. I'll check it more carefully tomorrow and will upload the fix. BTW the 'Picasso' issue is solved now. Also in tomorrows update.

Thanks for everyone!

Sorry, Attila, for all those midi-problems, in fact, I am just curious why it happens ;)
May be it's just my bad handling (combining several tracks in one) of initial midi-file?
And BTW I am really impressed by how easily and smoothly RC combines various strings (and any other) tracks itself (without any preliminary help of DAWs like e.g. Reaper :)).
So, may be I would better try to make same integrated midi-files in RC instead of wasting my time with another programs.
My best regards,
T.

T - just a thought - when you combined tracks, are any notes duplicated? Stacked on top of each other?

When I dropped this into Live it seemed like a HUGE amount of data.

When I dropped it into Sonar X2 it seems like an appropriate amount of data. But I think Sonar has an algorithm to recognize duplicated notes and delete them on import...I THINK :hihi:

Still, when I export a clip, RC refuses to open and crashes.

Just brainstorming here. I am positive Attila will have it fixed in no time tomorrow. ;)

Happy Musiking!

Dennis, I must confess that I don't remember whether I removed duplicated notes in this example file or not  God knows!
Honestly, I made it rather quick and didn't make any special operations with combined data, so may be the problem is in my slapdash actions and blameworthy negligence :dog:
But still I wonder what's making RC so "crazy" (as Attila called it) - one of possible explanations is that it feels how ignorant I am in my innocent amusements ;)

Post

You are funny  Thank you for making me laugh!

I'm confident Attila will have the answer right away tomorrow. :tu:

I am very glad, that I amused you a little, Dennis ;)
Right now I am trying to make some phrases with another Bruckner's midi and so far it sounds nice :)
May be I will put it here later in honour of all nice people socializing in this forum.
My best wishes,
T.

Hi!
The new beta is uploaded (v2.56b6)!
It fixes previous rendering issues with the chord palette, and the Bruckner MIDI file can be loaded (thanks for the upload!).
In addition the user interface rendering was optimized, you should experience at least 2x as fast rendering, especially for long and complex MIDI files. Note visibility improved, when the track is zoomed out.
Sorry, Attila, for all those midi-problems, in fact, I am just curious why it happens ;)
May be it's just my bad handling (combining several tracks in one) of initial midi-file?
No, it is all my fault. The number of chord sections had a hard limit, which was very wrong. Today it has been rewritten so even the longest MIDI files should work without issues.

Thanks,
Attila

Can you imagine, Como, if the world was filled with Attila's instead of what (who) there is?

Someday I'll be back on Zucron but for now,

Thank (name your deity) there is Attila!

Yes, THANK YOU for all you do! :tu:

Dear Attila, I just checked your last beta and still I can't normally use that problematic Bruckner's midi :(
The result is the same - file opened but no chords on top of a screen (only exception is - ...last two blocks of midi) and after any attempt to change something (e.g. even to change soundfont or expand track) RC crashes.

So may be the interim solution is just to shorten midi-files? What is the max. limit of bars/time for normal work?
Thanks for your hard work as always,
T.

P.S. I tried to shorten that file, made several "chunks", the last one was less than 2 minutes, but still - same story.
P.P.S (2nd edition :? ) - I also checked my 1st example file (Classical midi.rar) and alas - crash again.
P.P.P.S (final edition) - several crashes occured after checking another classical midis (not edited by me! :D): all files opened with no chords (with same exception - last chord is OK  ) and any actions caused crash.

i get similar behavior if i select "Replace Master Track Chords" RC crashes but in next opening arrangement comes with converted phrase + replaced master track chords.
I sent gif to the support ,was too big to upload here.

Attila, I hope that you are OK and nothing bad happened :)
I just want to inform you that your last beta #6 looks like a real disaster for me - NO ONE of my midi files open normally (all have same crash scenario as I described above) + many of of my usual RC-presets also look very strangely (e.g. some blocks of chords suddenly disappear, playing cursor leaves traces on the screen etc.).
So I just rolled back temporarily to your beta 5 (which works almost good) until you repair your nice program ;)
Best regards,
T.
