But that's all it was. literally 43 files like that missing. I never got any such files from your website.
Never mind. I skipped those files and I hope that no problems are caused.
sigh.

Okay, so compressed, Diamond changes from ~75 GB to 55. For RAM usage, the "all articulations Romantic Violin TVEC 3.1 instrument" uses 490 mb as opposed to 5.1 GB. It's a slight improvement, so I guess a little is better than nothing.
It's looking for the .wavs instead of the ncw.s though
EDIT: gah I was on a different page and didn't realize that I was double posting! At least this post is somewhat helpful.
EDIT: FOR ONCE I was able to fix something myself. Good it works. I only wish it all loaded faster (still takes quite a while), I thought that the decreased file size would make a bigger difference. Ah well, at least I saved 30 GB of HD space
thanks for suggesting the compression- this will tide me over until I do get a hard drive. -and thanks Kirk for recommending that Iomega drive, as now I'll be able to look into the mac version.
EDIT: Well actually Cubase is crashing a lot when I try to relocate the files. (Not a good sign)

Hi: I have read this long thread twice and can't find this mentioned, but if it is sorry for redundant post.
When i try to load "b French Horns 8,4,2 Players Mutes", I get samples missing, and when I click "search filesystem" it searches for minutes and never finds them. When the samples appear to be missing in other instruments, I just click "search filesystem" and it finds them instantly, not so with the French horns mute.
Maybe I did not download these, or they got corrupted. Can someone tell me which folders the mute French horns are in so can download again to remedy this?
thanks,
Cecelius2

Nevermind. I found it. The Samples_CB2French_Horns_Stopped had not been extracted. Everything is fine now.Cecelius2 wrote:Hi: I have read this long thread twice and can't find this mentioned, but if it is sorry for redundant post.

Thanks Kirk for another great product--the samples and TVEC 3.1 are very impressive!

Ok, so I have gotten down to messing with Pop Rock Strings - trouble
is, it has decided to mess with me instead.
Everything is installed correctly, etc. (to the best of my knowledge -
yes I was one of "those" who installed/unzipped incorrectly - however,
that was rectified immediately). Here is the problem: A few of the
instruments I have tried seem to perform as they should. However, many
of them that I have tried exhibit this: the keys are highlighted blue,
but when pressing a key, there is no sound and furthermore, red exclamation
marks come up intermittently when pressing keys with the ever present
absence of sound.
Other libraries merely have a red exclamation point that is always on -
it is not intermittent. Additionally, any or all instruments exhibiting any or all of this behavior inevitably "stop responding" and ultimately shut down Reaper.
Hoping there is a fix for this rather than this just being a "quirk" of the library. This happened in too many of the instruments I have experimented with, so I will not list specific instruments (some examples include TVEC 3 solo instruments, some of the regular solo violins, etc.).
Thanks

I don't know what the exclamation marks mean but I can at least tell you that is not a "quirk" of the library. i've been using PRS for over a year and have never seen that. so, i'm sure it can be fixedmusicalwarmth812 wrote:Hoping there is a fix for this rather than this just being a "quirk" of the library. I don't know what it is either. The only reference to "exclamation" in the Kontakt manual is CPU Overload Protection. Could that be related? Can you post a screenshot or two?

Hi,
as it seems, the same bug with IntervaLive as in the Diamond Woodwinds is also present in the Diamond Solo Brass instruments and in the Diamond Studio Brass instruments (VPro versions). The TVEC versions of the Studio Brass seem ok, but in the Solo Brass there are no TVEC versions and TVEC3 does not feature all instruments, so an update is really needed. I hope we get it as fast as with the woodwinds.
cheers, akj

In discussion with Kirk, and from our observations, this occurs when the istruments do not fully load. Note that those three yellow lights/meter below purge - in my other kontakt player instruments, and some of the PRS instruments (sometimes), the far right light lights white which I believe indicates the instrument/etc. is fully loaded. I believe there have been times where the red exclamation occurs in the middle light as well.
Fired up today, the PRS instruments appeared to be working flawlessly. Then tried it with midi usb interface (E-MU x midi 1x1)and the problem returned.
Disconnected the mid interface, restarted reaper (more than once to be repeatable) and the problem persisted. This issue seems to be sporadic, yet repeatable.
Kirk is looking in to the issue. To be clear, Kirk believes this is a Kontakt issue and at this point in time I am inclined to agree with him.

I have a question that may be useful to others:
How is the pitchbend meant to behave for most instruments; let's say violins?
When I make it go up, there's a definite slide up, but when it is down, there isn't a very similar effect going downward.
I can't really post any sort of example, but I'd like to know if it's normal for the downward slide to behave in this manner, that is, if I am able to describe it in a way that is comprehensible.
Thanks.

Hey guys & gals,
I entered the Queen remix contest. I just purchased CS2 last month, so this was a great exercise in learning the instrument. All of the strings are CS2, although I wish I had POP/rock for this particular song. I think I will buy them though, and I bought CB2 last night. Just downloading right now.
Anyway, have a listen & please vote for me!
Thanks...

Hmm, I've never seen that combination of icons. The orange one indicates that only some samples have been loaded. I guess that the red ! means that some samples have been found (otherwise you'd get the "Missing Samples" dialogue) but could not be loaded. as you said, the third LEd means that are are loaded OK / available.musicalwarmth812 wrote: In discussion with Kirk, and from our observations, this occurs when the istruments do not fully load. From what you have said, the instruments load OK if your USB audio interface is not connected but they do not load if the interface is connected.
-- what happens if you try Kontakt Player standalone, rather than the VSTi?
-- does the problem go away after a reboot?
-- what OS and memory do you have?

Problem persists whether or not usb midi interface is connected. Same behavior in both Standalone and Plugin, across Kontakt 4 & 5 player.
I also tried unticking the "background loading" in Kontakt options. When doing that the third LED turns white - but no sound at all across all keys. Some instruments stay at the middle LED yellow, but with no problems (this is in default operation, not with "background loading" unticked - this does appear to be normal, as Steven Slate Drums EX has same behavior with some instruments middle yellow LED, most far right white LED. However, no red exclamation marks or stop responding.)
Some instruments appear to load fine/functional, others not. In particular Quad all articulations TVEC 3, most of the solo violin instruments (whether TVEC 3 or not). Behavior is the same after reboot.
Win 7, i3, 8gb ram. At this point, the only thing I can think of is that my download is defective - don't know.

If SSD EX shows the same problem then I would not think that it is the download. What happens if you select "Reload all samples" in the Purge drop-down menu?

A question regarding the Diamond harpsichord:
Why is it that the instrument supports multiple velocities when (from my own understanding), harpsichords have extremely limited volume/velocity change ability?
