Curious as to what you don't like about Reaper? Me, I already own Logic, Live and DP, wasn't enough different about Reaper to drag me away. Bitwig might get my attention, not sure yet. DP has it's plusses for sure though.shallow wrote:me too! - but I doubt it is vapourware, more likely they are updating something - perhaps a new astonishing world breaking announcementzouki wrote:is it just me or the site is dead (and the "project" then?))

actually I look forward to seeing what they have made - this year should be a good one for new/updated DAWs - Usine gets a major revamp, DP to windows, Bitwig, and hopefully LIVE gets some significant action. DP looks the one I will buy - be very happy to leave Reaper

I know what you mean - I feel quite the same.shallow wrote: Not to divert, but I have lost confidence in the Reaper development - I think it has peaked in terms of the user experience that I am wanting. To put that in other terms - I have used Unix/Linux pine, vi, emacs and all those things from the old days (new days then) but I don't use them anymore - well, LateX lately - but the old tools have very limited application nowadays, albeit excellent for those particular applications. Reaper is a great tool for some people, but not so much for me anymore - and I have been using Reaper since early 2006. But I am not jumping ship until I find something that is genuinely better - and that may mean a combination of apps

All this anticipation must be getting to some here.

Yeah user experience is something I feel like eventually all great apps end up losing sight on.shallow wrote: Not to divert, but I have lost confidence in the Reaper development - I think it has peaked in terms of the user experience that I am wanting.

I love DP, no doubt, but I'm a bit of a DAW whore, and use Live just as often. If I could combine the best elements of DP, Live, Logic and Traction into one DAW I would be in heaven, but who knows? it's possible what I want would be a huge CPU drain UI wise?
I will say that DP's greatest area is definitely in mixdown, IMO nothing beats it's tools for that.
Sort of how getting loop of an idea is best in Live, but to really get a whole song going, it's back to DP or Logic etc. in terms of workflow.
