(the only thing they missed, LOL, was a chance to ask lennard of sylenth1 fame when he's gonna update the plugin, and give us a 64bit mac AU. i myself ask this regularly on the kvraudio forum, and am famous for it). :D
The truth is that person such Lennard Addink doesn't exist. It's only a BOT designed for machine called LennarDigital. The BOT is able to produce great softsynths and answer simple questions. The machine is located in Lochem and looks like this:

This is why I will NEVER buy Sylenth1
it's old. hasn't been updated since 2008. and is my only 32bit plugin. but i love it, it SOUNDS great...AND i've amassed a ridiculous sound library for it. AND find myself using it A LOT.

of course a bot designed it. bots design ALL plugins. just ask urs, or richard from synapse, george from discodsp... :D

I won't purchase something that just isn't updated regularily.

Furthermore I wont support a dev that does'nt communicate or let his customers in on what he's planning next. Even a hint of future development from Lennard would be great.

Sylenth also is starting to sound dated to me, but thats my opinion.

Depends what kind music composer make what are best synths for it. Btw i dont have own list.

Post

Looking at some earlier replies; Reaktor is not a synth on itself.

Also i think Synplant should have been in there, but i guess that will never happen.

DIVA 8????????

I think that list was voted on by youngsters into music that sounds like horse racing comentry.

Exactly.

If you're into ambient, sountrack/soundscape type music, your list will definitely be a lot different:

IMO...

1. Omnisphere
2. Alchemy
3. Zebra
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10. Massive
