The K5Player Abbey Road 60 Drummer in Reaper is fine. I only have a problem with the Sennheiser set. (I've not tried other hosts for either.)

Thanks for the link ! :tu:

You can get an official DVD mailed to you, even outside of germany. Some people even recieved 2 copies.

On a side note, I cant find a EULA on this sample library, anyone know what it is? Are we even allowed to use these samples in a commercial project?

I got a Licence Agreement during installation. It includes:
3. Use
SENNHEISER grants USER a personal, limited, non-exclusive license to install and use the LIBRARY for their personal, non commercial as well as commercial use within musical compositions. USER may install one copy as well as all upgrades and updates on a single computer, and for archival purposes on a storage device or media. USER may also use the LIBRARY within a network, provided that any USER has obtained an individual license.

Much appreciated. Wish it was in a text file in the download.

I'm curious about the reasoning for one install here. Surely they don't care that people install a freebie to two, or even say five machines. There must be either some reason that isn't clear, e.g. allowing unlimited installs might open the door to some hair brain 3rd party profit making scheme, or, it's just boilerplate that wasn't worth the legal cost to modify.

Or do you think that they actually spent man hours thinking about the marginal value to them of additional machines and concluded that this marketing effort would get the best response if users were limited to a single install?

It's clearly not a "substitute" product for any of their mics and a real drum set for any user in the market for their mics and a real drum set.

Also, they clearly don't care that much about controlling the low level costs because, like others, I received two DVDs in the mail. Both in the same expensive bubble wrap envelope with the nice letter.

Well, they do say "USER may also use the LIBRARY within a network, provided that any USER has obtained an individual license." -- basically, they want to track who's using it (possibly to collect email addresses...)

You're unfortunately not making any sense...

I recently tested this monster myself (finally on my own rig, not just 15min at a clients rig), and I must say... I hate the Kontakt 5 player. Limits you to stereo outs (nya). Else, this sampleset is outstanding, and punchy as hell (I do expect preEQ prior to recording already - or they are just wizards in terms of micing a drumkit!)!

Works for a lot of content. And it's actually darn simple to use/setup. I wish more developers would say:

"Ya know, feel limited? Nah, just use our built in Transient Designer, mess with the EQ and you have a complete new kit! (since we don't have separate mics for up/bottom of a snare, or just one mic for the kick - and our ADSR system is a bit moot)".

I only miss a tuning function (pitch) for each kit piece in that set.

Then again, I think this promo is aming at two things:
a) get either Sennheiser's or Neumann's microphones (for which it is a great promo! Though I am suprised that the infamous U87 "overhead" setup wasn't used)

b) both of them plan a "pro" version with kit exchange capabilities and pitching.

Else... for just leaving your email adress and your name, this thing is a friggin' steal! That set alone through NI would cost 99-149 EUR!

I wouldn't be surprised if Sennheiser/Neumann teams up again to create an IR set for Guitar Amps/Cabinets, bundled with Guitar Rig Player.

I dont know if me explaining how to accomplish this breaks the EULA, and id rather not do that. But taking a quick look at the DrumMicA.zip download, sure seems doable.

What confuses me, is the EULA posted above, states we are allowed to make a (one) backup copy, but the PDF states (page 3):

EDIT: I cant paste the sentence, because it says i cant copy any part of it... LOL, but basically, its saying we arent allowed copy it to "any media". So the PDF is basically saying, once we download it, it should never go anywhere...

Doesnt this statement contradict what the EULA says?

@EvilDragon; I think what Turello is saying, is that he would like to make a backup copy (which the EULA says we can make one of), onto a standard DVD, but the ZIP file is too big for that. Hes also pointing out that the library itself is about 3.7gb once installed. So theres about 1.3gb of extra installer stuff in there, if what hes saying is true.

Not sure what are you meaning, but notice that it says only one installation, and specifies that you can backup to a media device. Is not a contradiction, I guess you should backup the installers
And reading your last quote: Yes, it seems that Turello means to back up the installed library instead of the installer. Probably not a good idea: When you install a library for Kplayer, it modifies some registers. It may work, it's going to ask to re-register and the same serial number will work, but if the installer copies some IR or something else at NI folder in your PC and you don't realise which they are and back them up as well, those files will be lost.
Anyway, with 7z (which is free) you may partition the zip file into smaller files and use 2 regular DVD's to back up

What i mean is that EULA aside, the PDF manual on page 3 says the product is subject to a license agreement, and isnt allowed to be copied to other media.
To the person trying to get it to fit on a DVD, yes, he could create a split archive, and move to two DVDs. Not sure if this breaks any part of the full EULA, as only section 3 was posted here.

If you dont need the MAC installers, you could extract, delete the MAC folder (500mb+). What youre left with is 4.17 GB (4,482,757,738 bytes) which might fit onto a DVD. This is of course assuming you dont want the MAC stuff.

I havent installed the library, thats why i've asked about the EULA. The PDF manual says very little, and seemed very restrictive.
