its an ogg file and is/was my first attempt at weird, glitchy music.. believe it or not I put a lot of work into this

maybe we should start a new topic, repost our entries, and let everyone at it. maybe even some of the smarties could give us some details on their opinion.

personally, i'd like an idea of what to do, or not to do, for the next contest.

hey everyone...

a short note on the judging and decisions...

1. have a good look at the judging method on the smartelectronix.com site. As you can see it's very "fair". For your info: the songs we see are numbers, nothing more (well, except for the ID3 tags in some songs)

2. the quality of some of the tracks tracks is amazing. If you're not with the winning few, don't worry, it's just because there were other and better tracks, not because your track was bad.

3. we will refrain from *ANY* comments on the chosen tracks. It's a BAD idea for us to say why and how we chose the tracks we liked: we will get flamed by people because they have different tastes. As we're a group of about 8 people judging (totaly independent) our vote allready is averaged, one member does not decide the 'best track'. Again, see the voting mechanism.

I hope you guys understand this, and, I'm sorry for those who didn't make it.

Also know that if you're not with the lucky few doesn't mean you didn't get any votes, it might mean you didn't get enough votes.

For me personally, it was a great creative exercise, doesn't bother me in the least I was dropped. I think the voting mechanism used was rather fair.

Congrats to all the round 2ers. Can't wait to hear all the entries.

Well, August has come and gone - and I'm sure many like me have bit their nails right down by now.
The suspense is killing me!

Any word on the 'opening of the envelope' Smart judges? I got a speech all written out that I don;t want to get cut short because Billy Crystal wants to squeeze more jokes in about Halle Berry in Catwoman.

And I think the drummers getting tired from a 31 day non-stop drum roll on the tympani as well...?
