I don't know if this has already been fixed, but I've seen the same issue in my own limited midi coding. One issue is that even though the midi standard calls for a separate "MIDI Note Off" message with it's own velocity value, many sequencers, daws, etc. Use a MIDI note on message with the velocity set to zero as the note off. This is so common that almost all vsts are set up to respond to either, but every once I a while this interpretation of "Note on- velocity-0 = note off" is the only way a daw or midi controller works and many vst programmers don't interpret this as a note off at n their code.fluffy_little_something wrote: Wed May 18, 2016 12:33 pm In Mulab the problem is the same. It seems like that's the way DAW's work...
But my hanging note yesterday had nothing to do with that as I was only playing live, without recording anything. But I don't remember what I didI do remember that it also happened with your previous versions. That's why I never really used it, waiting for the fixed final version...
I actually like the supposedly slow envelopes, they are musical and match the pleasant sound character![]()
This could be the culprit. I've seen this overlooked in lots of top shelf, high end software. As well as in lots of daws.
Anyway
This is quite a nice synth.

Thank you! I didn't know he was selling presets, and I really like the sounds he uses in his videos. I'll have to give him some grief about not mentioning the presets!fluffy_little_something wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 9:45 pm https://thepatchbay.co.uk/index.php?rou ... uct_id=328

I didn't knew that either.planetearth wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 9:39 pmNot to take this off-track, but Espen's selling presets? I didn't see or hear any mention of this in his videos. Where did you find them?darkprojekt wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 7:54 pm Can I ask you all a question, today I purchased your Espen Kraft - Roland JX-8P / PG-8X - 32 Retro Synthwave Presets, I use the PG-8x but I am unable to load them. I copied the folder that comes in the zip file and nothing, I then copied the patches into the main PG-8X which is in the mail Steinberg VST folder, PG-8X can only see the default presets. Do you have any idea how to make PG-8X see all presets? I even tried load button under "program" but it's not seeing them. Picture is for attention: https://i.postimg.cc/LSvbnvvw/pg.png
Synth version on website is PG-8X_2.0.13_Win64 while when I open the plug in it says it's 1.0.0.0

Hi, I really like your VST. I have 2 things to mention. 1 is when loading banks (I think SYX but maybe PG8XBANK files as well), FL Studio crashes with a Fruity Wrapper error or something idk why. Another thing is a Super JX/JX-10/MKS-70 emulation in the works?

Martin planned on making a JX-10 version of this as a commercial product, but whether this gets done is unknown.Samuel_S wrote: Sat Nov 03, 2018 1:41 pmAnother thing is a Super JX/JX-10/MKS-70 emulation in the works?

that is frightening. I hope it doesn't turn into another SQ8X.

I assume you mean SQ8L, and if so, what was wrong with it, other than it was never finished? (I'm not defensive here; just asking.) Many of us have been using it for years with no serious issues (for a .9 version of a VST), and it even reads SYSEX files from the Ensoniq synth it emulates.Samuel_S wrote: Sat Nov 03, 2018 11:20 pmthat is frightening. My concern with a JX-10 emulation is that PG-8X (2.0) still seems to have some problems with the portamento (and other things). I'm not complaining, I'm very grateful for PG-8X, and I know many of us have donated to support the developer. And while I don't know how much work it would take to fix some of these issues, the fact that they're not even addressed by the dev is a bit disappointing. Even a "Sorry, that would take a re-write of the code, and that's too much time and effort to put back into it," would be something, and would at least let us know he's seen the issues.

As far as i remember the 'L' in SQ8L stands for 'Light' and the 'X' version was to become an extended version.
(Which obviously never materialized.)

That is technically what I mean. I wont estimate how much he has profited from donations (which might be why there is no more news/announcements from Martin) but given he has say about $5,000 or so, he could easily fix the PG-8X's issues and/or even update it to emulate the JX-10 (since it's 2 JX-8Ps in one). But then again, I am not sure if it is the possible lack of donations that possibly hindered or held back his developments on a new VST.planetearth wrote: Mon Nov 05, 2018 7:42 amI assume you mean SQ8L, and if so, what was wrong with it, other than it was never finished?
