But it doesn't load IR's, how can it sound like plastic?

Those FabFilter guys have spent the last two years meticulously modeling the sound of Legos.
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Deepmind 12D | Integra-7 | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

That's just 1 user saying that.

The response on GS is overwhelmingly positive overall.

I think there were a couple of detractors, not just 1. It doesn't deter me, don't worry!

Seems like this unquantifiable "plasticky" Fabfilter sound pertains to their clean algorithms. Surely if you want imperfections and analog emulation you look elsewhere. If plasticky means clean and glossy, that's a good thing to me.

Subjectivity :)

Well you know what they say, ones mans plastic is another ones platinum :hihi:

That's a heart of gold right there

George Carlin once said that plastic was the meaning of life itself.

:D

Well, considering it's what the kids are swimming in now, makes sense.

But I digress.......

That's just the standard Gearslutz code for "I have no idea WTF I'm talking about, but have to say something bad about it so people will think I'm an authority on the subject."

...because, ya know, plastic has a sound, and reverbs can sound like it. :tu: :dog: :nutter:  :hihi:
And that authority guy on GS even says it in his post - “I don't even know how to describe it“, he also writes that “there is something missing in Pro-Q2“ - it's just blablablabla.

Post

Well, if "plasticky" is the antithesis to "metallic" then it's something positive actually. :hihi:

Maybe they should do a Waves and add in 50hz hum and white noise hiss. And make it so you can't switch it off - there... have some 'character'.

Lego Jesus says: "Plasticky reverberations in my church you say? Where art thou?"

Pretty accurate observation! :phones:

Enough!

What is it with kvr and the "beat down the guy who doesn't like it" BS
