That's just 1 user saying that.MogwaiBoy wrote:Been following the chatter on Gearslutz and as expected a slight backlash has begun: It sounds "plasticky" - "like all FF plugins do", apparently.

I think there were a couple of detractors, not just 1. It doesn't deter me, don't worry!
Seems like this unquantifiable "plasticky" Fabfilter sound pertains to their clean algorithms. Surely if you want imperfections and analog emulation you look elsewhere. If plasticky means clean and glossy, that's a good thing to me.

And that authority guy on GS even says it in his post - “I don't even know how to describe it“, he also writes that “there is something missing in Pro-Q2“ - it's just blablablabla.cryophonik wrote:That's just the standard Gearslutz code for "I have no idea WTF I'm talking about, but have to say something bad about it so people will think I'm an authority on the subject."MogwaiBoy wrote:It sounds "plasticky"
...because, ya know, plastic has a sound, and reverbs can sound like it.![]()

Maybe they should do a Waves and add in 50hz hum and white noise hiss. And make it so you can't switch it off - there... have some 'character'.Sampleconstruct wrote:And that authority guy on GS even says it in his post - “I don't even know how to describe it“, he also writes that “there is something missing in Pro-Q2“ - it's just blablablabla.cryophonik wrote:That's just the standard Gearslutz code for "I have no idea WTF I'm talking about, but have to say something bad about it so people will think I'm an authority on the subject."MogwaiBoy wrote:It sounds "plasticky"
