No, they're 24-bit/44.1 kHz .wav files.
briefcasemanx wrote: Thu Nov 18, 2021 12:12 am How many included samples are there compared to xo?
Atlas
"1500 drum sample map included. (optional download)
Free Drum Kits, Sequences, and Loops to get you started."

XO
"Get a flying start as a beat maker with XO's inspiring Presets Playlists and 8000+ hand-picked factory samples."

Post

8000+ and handpicked is a contradiction. Definitely…!
You need to handpick them yourself. But both are the best tools to do just that…

Just trialling this now and although the web site says the trial is 'fully functional', when I assign more than 4 audio outs (I'm using Reaper) all the drums stop outputting anything - you can see the waveforms in the kit window stop pulsing - as soon as I select 4 or fewer outs it starts again.
So does this work OK in the full version, is this actually a trial limitation or some bug? I was about to buy it, but this is a bit of a deal breaker if I can't get output on all channels in real time.

nvm I think it must be the first time I've used multi out audio from a VST3 rather than VST2 and there's a Reaper quirk where you have to not only set the number of audio out channels, but the VST3 bus size. The default Auto setting wasn't working, but manually setting it to 64 worked fine.

Can anyone confirm if Atlas 2 can be resold/transferred? Are there any fees or restrictions to be aware of?

I bought my copy from a guy on KVR, so ya. Don't recall any fees. Dev even helped out with the transfer.

Thanks, good to know that. I might want to buy it and thought it would be nice to have this option if I don't get along with it.

Same, over a year ago. I tried out XO when it came out but never saw the need, having Atlas. I don't use samples enough to warrant both, though have more than 40GB/100k files of drum samples sitting around on my network drive. I can say that building the drum map takes just a little while....

Saw that XO uses proprietary format samples, and the samples aren't even made by xln, and decided on Atlas 2. Bought it just now. Feels good man.

Post

did I read on here the samples that come with Atlas 2 are 44/24 ?

does it keep imported samples at their native sample rate or would it process them at 44/24 ? not sure if it even matters for drums just interested

wondered how this compares to XO - couldn't find any info on stock samples to what sample rate they are at - and/or what sample rate processing is done at

I've demoed both - preferred Atlas 2 but XO sounded slightly clearer to my ears could well have just been the particular samples loaded for the loops I quickly tried though rather than it being generally that way - I'll probably end up buying both !

Do i can not pre-listening samples, by click and hold the Button, like in XO? Do i need click every of my 100 Kicks to find the right one? Yeah okay i dindnt read the tutorials because...Plugins should be intuitive
AHHH i found the mouse over preview !! hell yeah :o

I can't figure out how to input notes that span more than one step. Can someone help? For instance if you have the Stranjah DNB 04 sequence open there are notes that are two or more steps wide. I can't seem to do it and I didn't see anything in the online manual (which I hope becomes downloadable at some point).

I tried to use Ctrl-Z to undo the last thing I did on Atlas 2 and it crashed Reaper and removed the plugin from Bitwig (which I have set up with plugin isolation so less fatal crashing).
Can others confirm it does the same for them?

If I press ctrl-z when Atlas is highlighted as the active window, it just undoes the last thing I did in Bitwig, not Atlas.

(This is with Bitwig 3.3.11)

Think the only way to undo / redo is the arrows in the top right corner?

What if the Atlas plugin has focus and the last thing you did was change a note on the Atlas sequencer?

Edit:
Definitely deletes the plugin on my Bitwig 4.1, but it's good to know the undo/redo arrows in the plugin work fine, will just have to remember not to use the Ctrl+z shortcut method.

Ctrl-z doesn't do anything for me in Atlas.

Only way I can get the plugins' window to vanish with ctrl-z is when Bitwig undoes the plugin being added.

Maybe it's something to do with 4.1?
