Yeh, I did that as well until I watched the video! The standard pre-set selector is buried at the bottom of the main (burger) menu and called 'basics', so easy top miss! Personally I would put that somewhere more accusable and obvious- its top bar stuff!

I'm not sure the main menu is the best place for it - could it be integrated into the patch selector? Maybe left click opens the preset menu, right click to change the name or something along these lines?

Yeh, that is what I meant by 'top bar'- so you don't have to open the menu to get to it...a button by the pre-set name seems the most obvious to me (as I'll forget what click does what!)

Either way- fabulous to see the developer listening and making changes, I love this synths, glad I have bought it and will pick up Abyss next sale!

I am playing with my own samples at the moment. And while experimenting I go back and forth and had thrown the same sample several times in, and it converted it each time again. It gave the 6 layers a cryptic arbitrary name, instead of using the original file name. I would also like to be able to access previous conversions somehow…
It could remember a hash of the original file and link it to the transformed layers. That way multiple conversions could be avoided… I guess I have to delete the unused conversions by hand now…

2 remarks:

1. when i was making this, the plugins crashed, when the second instance was initialized (by manufacturer, is the setting, now i have set all together, not for this reason, i like it this way..), and when opening the second instance, again, now i can't reproduce it.

(it is something that i sometimes experience that a new plugin crashes (any) DAW the first time... afterwards, everything fine, but in this fashion never... the project started with well, the first track, added later in another session a second instance)

2. when the GUI's are open, high CPU usage; one core (out of 12 real, with SMT 24)
2.1. shall check in other DAW's

it seems that the GUI takes a lot of processing power.

very fast resolved by the developer, who is present here, i repeat, so any questions or problems, can and will be fixed as soon as possible...

o well, i will repeat, in another way; PetVor; the developer of NOVUM ánd Abyss, will take every FR serious or idea...

expect many 'improvements' in workflow, while already NOVUM is a beast of a synth, that works great.

if you see, how other brands, sometimes, take their time... this is the opposite....

Full or not I am going to continue to support anyone who makes 'original' synths and have stuck to my rule of not buying anymore synths based on some historical subtractive hardware from the 70's or 80's...in that case it is 'F+++ off I'm full!'

What is the intended result of the Content installation? To simply download the content or to put it in the right place?

I used the Tracktion Download Manager and installed the Novum Content, and it said it was installed, however it was only a zip file in my donwloads, the plugin did not see any presets. I clicked Manage Content or presets or whatever in the menu and it showed a path. I unzipped the BASICS folder and moved it to the Factory Content Folder indicated in the Manager, but still doesn't see them.

What am I doing wrong?

I think you can copy it anywhere on your hard drive and then drag and drop the BASICS Folder into Novum.

Exactly this. If one scrolls back a few pages, another member confirmed that you don't even need to drag it into the GUI, just into the DAW while the plugin is correctly open on screen.
