So maybe if Ben and Co got a ton of money, they'll start a new company and make something new. Or maybe we'll probably never hear from them again. . .
What is Randall talking about there :?

Who will be the next company Apple buys.

Ten million dollars for a software synth to be released for Logic? Apple has bought their technology, not their plugins. If they keep on releasing them it would be as a hobby, I guess.

Well yes, the Logic users might(!) benefit from the buyout on the long run.

But ultimately, the losers are the PC users.

Unless they go the Cakewalk route with rgc:audio - hold back the plugin for a bit, then release v2.

Or... this is actually a deal as with Steinberg back in the days, where the Wizoo programmers were kind of constant guests. So it might not only be a buyout, but also a job offer?

We will never know until there is something official. But the tweet is shining a sad light on the situation.

Ahh ok thanks. I thought I couldn't read tweets without a Twitter account.

Looks like it will be Apple then

Apple would be the absolute worst case.
And the absolute opposite of what Camel Audio stood for so far.

Sadly it would also fit the current picture perfectly.

:-(

If you read Chris Randall's tweet he hinted that Alchemy is going to be rolled into Logic. At least that's what I gathered from it.

The losers are the pc users doesn't quite give the story. The 'losers' are 90% of the paid customers who have pc! Let's get the numbers right atleast :P

Yes, very true. A behemoth that prides itself on 'knowing better' than it's users and keeping them in the dark. And while Camel is (was!) a fairly bright star in the world of electronic music making, it's acquisition will be barely a blip in Apple's grand scheme.

Q: Do you think Tim Cook even knows about this acquisition or would this just be another day at the office for one of his departments?

Logic will cost more with Alchemy in it.

A win for Apple!!!

For the rest of us...we can worry about who Apple will buy next.
