Just out of interest, did anyone get any problems with the glue forgetting settings in a project when updating from 1.0.14 to 1.0.16 ?

The only time I've heard of anyone losing settings was due to a bug in Live 8.0.11 and its handling of audio units, which they have since fixed. Also if a trial version is used by mistake and the project saved then all settings will be lost since the trial version doesn't allow you to save. If either of these is not the case I would appreciate it if you could please send me a project file (no audio) where the settings don't recall, as then it will be very easy to let you know what the problem is.LeVzi wrote:Just out of interest, did anyone get any problems with the glue forgetting settings in a project when updating from 1.0.14 to 1.0.16 ?

I did Andy, send you the Cubase project with no audio, just the instances with the glue in it. I just thought id ask here as well, in case you were busy.

Sorry for being slow to get back to you, I've just sent you an email with full details. Very briefly the project file you emailed has no setting for The Glue in it, which is why The Glue isn't recalling them. This could possibly come from some weird project file corruption, but is most likely caused by having saved the project with the trial version of The Glue, which has no data it saves as part of the trial limitations.LeVzi wrote:I did Andy, send you the Cubase project with no audio, just the instances with the glue in it. Scrap what I just said. There are settings in there, but Cubase isn't passing them through to The Glue for some reason. I tried loading a song saved with v1.0.16 with v1.0.14, and vice-versa without luck. For some reason Cubase thinks they are different plugins and won't pass the saved data through. I'll check into it further and get back to you. I'll also update to the latest version of Cubase to make sure it isn't a bug they have resolved at their end. So please don't save over any existing projects you are having trouble with.andy_cytomic wrote:Sorry for being slow to get back to you, I've just sent you an email with full details. I've sorted out the cause of the issue. It is to do with a workaround for another host that has caused Cubase to think the saved settings no longer apply to the new version. I've already coded automatic detection for the other host and only change apply the workaround for it, and I'll release this in the next version. So many hosts, so many different things to support - it's a nightmare since every host does everything slightly differently.

having an issue with the trial version i downloaded the win64 link(since i am using windows 7 64bit) and extracted the rar file.
There is a .DLL file and the the installation setup guide. I copyed the .DLL file into my ableton live plug in folder and it doesnt show up....? I am missing something.....

64-bit plugins only work within a 64-bit host DAW regardless of using win7 x64. As far as I'm aware ableton live is 32-bit (although I could be wrong about that since I don't use it) so try using the 32-bit version of The Glue instead.Augsy wrote:having an issue with the trial version i downloaded the win64 link(since i am using windows 7 64bit) and extracted the rar file.

Yep, as Peevy2000 has pointed out, Live is a 32 bit host, so you want the 32 bit version of The Glue to run in it. A 64 bit operating system can run either 32 bit or 64 bit programs, and it is the program that determines which plugin to use since a plugin in effect becomes part of the program. This 64 bits refers to how memory is addressed, nothing more. The Glue already uses 64 bit numbers internally for computation of the algorithms where needed, so there is no audible change between the 32 bit and 64 bit memory versions of The Glue. Clear as mud huh?
