This thread now has people trying to derail the thread away from the focus of the sad state of NI is all. Products range from ew to stellar with a company that just wants everyone to shut up and keep giving them money. They really don't care what anyone thinks.

who mentioned single parents?Milkman wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 9:01 pm So this thread now features people placing blame on single parents for rampant drug addiction in the west? Lmao I didnt think the Rupert Murdoch crowd was also into electronic music much, or even understood it, but ok. Welcome to the party.
i saw "latch key" kids, which was where both parents were at work, when a kid got home from school.
not that i think that is responsible for drug use.
also, my mum is a single parent, and she's awesome. so i have no issues with single parents.

I love this thread for so many reasons.
Let me count the ways
Top level thinking here
- NI Sucks
- Social issues
Oh wait, I thought this was an NI sucks thread
OK
OK here are the solutions that work for me
- Leave NI! NA does suck!
- Society sucks! Waaaaaayyyyy too much S*@#! Go back to a faith based realm.
So to add to the argument of GenX vs Boomers vs other Gens, and maybe I shouldn't go there, but here I am cuz I think there's a missing intelligence chromosome missing in the discussion equaton! Current gens lack the understanding of a faith based system, therefore there is a change, not just the dung others are throwing at the noticeable difference because they lack the understanding of a faith based system!

I was going to ask how does Massive sound considering there's a $19 sale on at the moment and I've only ever had 1 NI plugin (ReplikaXT). But I see this thread is not about NI so maybe I'll move on. I had a quick listen to the NI demo for Massive and TBH it sounded a bit lifeless and thin, but then I think the majority of sw synths sound thin. Should I throw $19 at Massive and what would that give me, or should I go to church and bend over for the priest behind the altar to receive my penance?

The bottom line is Native Instruments have proven time and again that
your plugin investments are not safe with them. They have discontinued
just about everything they’ve developed.
The typical life cycle of an NI product is:
Overhype → Underwhelm → Discontinue

Check the secondhand market, someone is probably selling it for $10 or less.kritikon wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 3:02 am I was going to ask how does Massive sound considering there's a $19 sale on at the moment and I've only ever had 1 NI plugin (ReplikaXT). Back on topic, I really don't have too much of a problem with the sound of NI plugins, Reaktor, Kontakt etc. sound great. The issue is with the rest, they act super invested, then likely refuse to pay the main developers to fix the products for future features like 64 bit in the past, MPE, adjustable GUI's, Arm chips from Apple now, Arm chips coming from Microsoft etc. So we end up with abandoned products like Kore, Absynth, Intakt, Kompakt, B4, Pro 53, Spectral Delay etc. etc.enroe wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 4:19 amThe best short summary I could find is this:ramseysounds wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 7:43 pm Whats the actual problem with NI? This has been the cycle far longer than the buyout by investors, so there is legit concern that it continues.

I think microtransactions is the way forward here. Everybody loves microtransactions.
