I.P. - I think either of the World ones would be useful for you.. based on the style of music you make I might lean towards the World Grooves as they make excellent "background thickener" in a groove.
The World Instruments are good for adding an exotic touch to thing, lots of diversity there, including percussion to roll your own grooves.

Symphony Strings was an optional pick for the Sonik Tank GB. I was in that GB and remember NOT picking this one so, ppl from that group buy won't necessarily have this unless they selected it.

Also, AFAIK Cinematik is a brand NEW title taken from SR's new Cinema Sessions so nobody should have that one yet.
Yeah I must correct my earlier info a bit. The Strings item in this GB is a combination of (parts of?) the Symphony Strings Expansion Tank and the Best of Sonic Strings, which were offered in the Soniktank and Miro GBs respectively. I don't recall the choices from the Soniktank GB but seem to have ended up with all of the Capsules and Tanks available at the time.

Going by the Sounds list, the Cinematik tank is an exact replica of Film Orchestra Vols I and II which were part of the Miro GB. I almost dove on that one when I read that it was derived from the new Cinema Sessions but am glad I didn't once I checked the patch list. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome, I just have it already.
I guess Cinema Sessions may use these same sounds just in IP format (or the IK page contains a typo)..

...and then for 8x1 wow. Did you shy away from loops, or a particular genre? Maybe we now get people to post examples of uses of loops and genre-specific packs in ways that one might not expect (I know we've had some of these already)?
Just as long as they have slices loops are okay....

I think now that it's about to be 8X1 I think we need more choices!

how 'bout Sample Moog?

Thanks for replying Marimbaman....

Sorry, I don't understand....When you say "I had to clear them", what exactly were you clearing? (since clearing the cookies wasn't enough) :help: :?:

What I meant was, that JUST clearing the cookies wasn't enough. I also had to restart the browser after I cleared them (the cookies, that is).

Make sure you close the browser right after clearing the cookies, as any page refreshes will give you more cookies.

Still no word from Squids on the 7x1 bonus? I'm DYING to know...

Over 250 new users in twenty hours! DAMN! Looks like 8x1 is in our future! :D

BTW, tech support from Allen @ esoundz and the IK team has been EXCELLENT! Thanks again!

Also, about the password/cookies browser issue, sometimes a complete reboot is required to empty the RAM cache on some machines...

Possibly a silly question, but is there a benefit to having 3 copies of XT?

I bought into this 2x....do I need to register the second XT purchase?
Also, is there a link to using ST that new users can benefit from?

Thanks & this really is a Great Group Buy....I'm definitely a happy customer!! :D :) :D

Sorry for the late response - just got in from the airport.

For me, there would eventually be a big advantage to having 3 licenses of XT. Whenever I finally get settled down and set up the studio, it will be a multiple computer setup. 3 copies of XT = XT running on 3 machines = 3 musicians playing live simultaneously.

The one snag is that at the moment, IK is showing just once license rather than all three.

(The promotions page also isn't showing all of the waiting downloads, but I suspect it's just a limitation of the web page. And Zedd has also confirmed that once you start selecting them and downloading them, the "missing" slots pop in to take their place.)

As for shelfware, that's the big bummer. For a while longer, I won't be able to set it all up and everything will have to continue sitting on the shelf. A laptop won't do - I'm creating a playing area suitable for a full band to practice in plus a 24-track mobile recording rig.

I only listed the IK/SR products earlier (Sampletank 2 XL, SampleTank 2 L, SampleTank 2 LE (x2), SonIK Synth 2, Amplitube 2, SampleTron, a Stealth Pedal, Amplitube Hendrix, SampleMoog, Miroslav PhilharmonIK, Amplitube Metal, Squids Tron Collection Vol 1, the original Piano Collection ExpansionTank plus SampleTank 1 LE, the original Symphony Strings ExpansionTank, and the Guitar Collection and MelloZone ExpansionTanks). There's another long list of hardware and software non-IK/SR products in storage as well.

With the two SampleTank 2 LEs on the shelf (not to mention the L and XL), the missing XTs aren't a major problem. But at some point I'll probably put in a ticket to get that straightened out. I'd like to have the licenses in pocket even though they'll probably never be needed. I prefer to be prepared.

Alrighty yall..

I made a short Dark Hip Hop Instrumental demo last night using DeepSouth, World Instruments, World grooves, Cinematik, DownTempo and Vocal Collection. Nothing special but this can give you an idea of the sounds included.

I kept everything as Sampletanky as possible. I didn't have too much time to spend on this.. It's basically not mixed, aside from a limiter that I slapped on the master, 2 eq tweaks, and 1 compressor.

I have an mp3 file that is 1:30

If someone would be so kind as to host it for me. I don't have a means of uploading it :(

Anyone up for it? PM me your e-mail address and I'll e-mail it to you. Then you can post the link to it or give me the link, and I will post it.

Thanks!

PS: Man I love those didjeridoos :)

I believe they are only giving out one ST2 serial per customer regardless of the number of times you join the group buy, but I could be wrong.

Hope that helps.

Hey BBQT!

It looks as if you ARE correct! I opened a service ticket about it and here's Jason from IK's QUICK reply:

"Yes this is correct you only get 1 SXT20 serial #, because you dont need another one. You can use the original one and just get a new auth code for it on the other machine.

When you launch the plug in inside the host
When the Auth Wizard starts put your serial # in click Next.
Choose Request A New Auth code, Next
Connect Using Another Computer, Next

Now you will see the current Digital ID. (COPY PASTE IT)
Take this to the user area and get a new code."

Thanks, Jason!

Not sure if this will use another Authorization or not, maybe someone else out there has already added STXT to a second computer and can give us the skinny on that...

If they don't limit the authorizations, that would be perfect. I think it's usually a three-authorization limit, intended to thwart piracy but still making it easy enough to upgrade to a new computer. And I'm told it's easy enough to e-mail them and get an extra auth code if you do end up needing to change machines yet again.

That could be a minor annoyance though (for IK as well as for us) if we buy multiple copies intending to use them on multiple machines simultaneously. We'd then have to bug them for new codes whenever we make changes on any of the machines.

I'm almost tempted to re-install the original (v1) SampleTank LE on a new machine just to see if their on-line authorization system can still handle it.

If you put ST XT on another computer then it will use another Authorization code, as the Digital Id is derived from the computer hardware. But remember:
Licence Agreement, in the SampleTank User Guide wrote:Applications Software. The "IK Multimedia Product" may be used only by you. You may install and use the "IK Multimedia Product", or any prior version

Since I don't seem to be the only one overwhelmed with all the choices and confused by the product naming and marketing hype, also since I'm a data geek :borg:, I took the liberty of A/B comparing some of the R.A.W. titles against similar Xpansion titles and put them into a spreadsheet.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key= ... utput=html

If folks find this helpful, I'll go ahead and Xpand this comparison to the rest of the R.A.W. titles that I own which seem to correlate to an XT title. I could use some suggestions as well...

As you were.
Drum machines are people too.

I didn't see where anyone answered this... StickyWicket, you have to register all your copies of ST2XT in order for your extra 7x1 packs to show up in your account, and for your number to be added to the GB joining numbers.

That looks like a hell of a lot of work... but if you decided to expand it, I would gratefully download it and store it in my Construction Packs folder for future reference. Great work! :-)
