I assume we'll see this first in the downloadz section of our esoundz account and then we'll do the esoundz/downloadablesoundz relay race to get all the stuffz.
Either way, I for one don't mind waiting
Squids... how far away are these pyramids? If this is your last day in Mexico City, why don't you actually take a day to enjoy your vacation? I know that getting this GB stuff together is important and stressful, but you should take at least one day (or even half a day) to do some of the things you wanted to do down there. How is your girlfriend handling all this lack of tourism?Squids wrote:But I'll come back another time... gotta see those pyramids. One day maybe I will do a tour of just stuff like that. Also you can't underestimate the sound of pyramid convolution impulse ambience on a drum kit. It's "other worldly".![]()
Would you really prefer that word "will" is used when unforeseen circumstances might not allow that reality to materialize? Until you know something to be almost for sure, I think the word "should" is more appropriate. There would be a lot more complainers being vocal about their dissatisfaction if they were counting on something because of a "will" which should have been presented with a "should".Sampleconstruct wrote:Squids, I really appreciate your work and generosity but please don't use the word "should" anymore. Just say: It will be up there at so and so the earliest and you will receive your redeem codes at so and so.
Life is good and I'm not worriedtropicalontour wrote:Blueman, I guess you share the difficulties involved in carving out some time for music making. Other commitments and draws on your time mean that a missed delivery deadline kind of amplifies the angst. I also had a bad experience with an EH POG2 pedal over the same period and that is now on 6 weeks back order, so the planned music making fest has not gone well so far.
sounds fun...we could have a section for finger/pad drummers (mpd, mpc, padkontrol etc) who've recorded their performance live, no overdubs or quantisation.....pcaseiro wrote:WARNING: MUST READ
Sorry guys, i just had to get your attention
While we are waiting for some goodies its time to look forward and think how we can get so much fun out of this great sounds from SR.
I've been thinking of this for a while and i think i've came up with a cool idea in which we can have some fun.
Basically i'll post and share with you a drumless song and each one of us will record and also post back the same music but this time actually played with this GB sounds. This way we'll all have some fun but also you can all start building up your drumless songs archive and see how differently each one of us can take the best of this sounds.
I'll post one song per week and a half or maybe 2 weeks. Don't worry i have plenty of them![]()
So what do you guys think? How about you Squids? Wanna to get in in this challenge?
That would be nice but it depends on certain things happening. For example, we're having trouble with the jazz kit file that was uploaded which is the option vs. the Infinite Player in the redeem code. Been struggling with it for a few hours and there's some kind of error so it has to be reuploaded differently. However, rather than making people wait even longer at this point we're just going to do the redeem code now and if you choose Infinite Player you get that and if you choose the Jazz kit you just have to wait until it shows up in your user area automatically... and that can't happen until the file is uploaded correctly. Not that I wanted to give all the details but that's why I can't say "will". It SHOULD if all goes just right. But moving large files around like this takes time is all and in a 5 hour upload things can happen (although I think it was to do with zipping it on my Mac perhaps vs. PC... I am uploading the nkx unzipped now for another 5 hours so we'll get to the bottom of that... normally we upload from our T1 at the office which is a lot faster than DSL).Sampleconstruct wrote:Squids, I really appreciate your work and generosity but please don't use the word "should" anymore. I wanted you all to be able to play with it over the weekend too. Well, it's still Saturday and it should be up this afternoon.
Thank's SC
I understand and we're doing everything we can. If the product was shipped then no one would have it for another week. We'd throw in extras to make up for it but we already have quite a bit! Not sure what else we can do to make it up to anyone. There's even coupons worth the entire price of the product off of other products, there's free extra samples that add up to more than the value of it as well. It's not like we're holding out on anyone or partying it up without a care.tropicalontour wrote:I'm plenty calm. I trust that all will be well in time. I'm just annoyed that my plans have been trashed.
Yeah, videos are great. I love them. But of course they are second priority to making sure the product is ready though if it is custom made. I actually swore off doing the custom made group buy (and the last Reason Group Buy wasn't custom made - it was available instantly... just not enough Reason users participated but that deal was sick actually). But the opportunity to do this bundling with OWD literally fell into my lap in November and I had to do it before NAMM. If all went smooth like we thought then we'd have had time to do the videos but instead we had to spend more time on the actual product.blueman wrote: Life is good and I'm not worried![]()
I wouldn't even say that I have "angst". It's just a missed opportunity for me to enjoy some time off with new sound toyz but ya know, I'm spoiled
It's impossible for me to feel too ungrateful about anything when 1 out of 10 people here in US are without work
These group buys really work and are a win/win for all. I just wish the audio clips AND video demonstrations that inform ABOUT the product would be available BEFORE the group buy begins. As it is, this is the 3rd group buy (that I can remember) where videos are being mentioned and don't materialize (in the end). I'm worried the same might happen here and it makes little sense to me since these vids (as MANY here have mentioned) actually sell the product best. Not all of us are "finger drummers" and I gather a good selection of ppl are in my situation (crossover guitarist/songwriter). We would really benefit from how-to tutorials and examples that show off what's possible and how. Well, I've beat this dead horse before so there's not much point in re-stating the obviousAnyway, that's my only complaint fwiw
