For me, it seems decent and I run an i5. 20 instances...well that depends on what sort of preset you are using and the numbers of notes played at a given time. If you haven't got a load of pads playing 6 note chords then I reckon 20 instances would be achievable, just about.

This Vst has been a success for me.I wouldn't have bought any other VST If i could have ben up on Spire 1st.It truly more than awesome.The sounds blow my mind.Every sound sounds amazing and it has me listen to sounds more than actually working.Its so good I hate to tell anybody about my new found weapon."Say hello to my little friend"

I can't imagine a world without Spire now, it is so essential to me. And now with improved CPU usage there is not a single problem with it, you can forget about performance if your PC is decently modern.
If there wasn't Spire I would probably use Sylenth1 or Hive but Spire has more features and to me sounds better, clearer, more digital (compared to Hive) but in a good way. Sylenth1 and Hive are both GREAT, but in 2016... Spire has the edge.

i love spire, but for me, hive is equally essential; am glad to have both.

I was a bit reserved when it came out for the intro price of 69 €, because it was an unknown dev, there was no real info about the people behind it, and it wasn't finished yet. But more and more people gave some positive critics about it, so one day i bought it. It's my favorite synth now for VA stuff, and especially for super saws, and big string pads. It's very good for basses too, and in general very versatile with a big sweet spot, and that's something i like about synths. I also thought more than once about purchasing Sylenth, but really, i just can't justify it when i have Spire anyway, which gives me that sound (it really sounds scarily close with some sounds), and much more. To me, one of, if not THE best sounding soft synth of the ones i tried, and those were many. It's also IMO, the better maintained synth, and the devs were good to erase the main issue people had with Spire, the CPU consumption, now. And the list of things to come in future version makes me impatient to wait, some great stuff coming up there.

Judging from their track record it may be quite a long wait

Still, as it is Spire is a work of art, if I had to restrict myself to only one synth it would be Spire

Fresh install, complete refreshing my plugin list; nothing worked.

Opened up in Reaper just the way it should.

Same here. When you reload the plugin from FL Studio VST wrapper settings and switch back the the plugin editor, it shows the GUI properly. This only works for the Original Theme GUI, the legacy and dark themes still show the black screen below.

I had that one from the site already. Same bugs with UI and presets.
