Can you add that to the list of ST3 requests Peter? Thanks.

I hope that SampleTank 3 will not overwrite SampleTank 2 and that both versions will be able to be run consecutively in a project. I happen to like the current GUI, and have a ST instance in every single one of my song projects (that would be in the several hundreds). I would prefer it if I am able to continue to open my projects so that ST2 will load as usual, and then to manually save a combi and import the instruments into a ST3 instance if and when I feel that it would be a beneficial thing to do.
Can you add that to the list of ST3 requests Peter? Thanks.

zedd wrote: I think they changed their minds about what the Wild Card would be. The Wild Card is now whichever library you choose as you bonus library, plus Squids has said that there is another surprise coming.
Could be... but I don't know of any official word from Squids on that one one way or the other. Quote from his initial post:
"Not only will you have the option to choose the exclusive 1 gigabyte library that includes previously unreleased SampleTank sounds but alternatively you can choose select R.A.W. loop collections and more as options."
It sounded like a specific extra collection of sounds that would be one of the choices. That would be one of my bonus choices, but I don't want to get my ticket punched until I know for sure.
Has anyone chosen that set from esoundz and successfully downloaded it?

I will make sure that is a request. I would think that we would do exactly that, as it was our M.O. for the AmpliTube 3 upgrade too. Better to leave your old projects the way you intended at the time and let you - if you wish - "upgrade" those projects (even compare side-by-side which is another reason we did so for AT2 --> AT3).

Well the information I provided was what I was told by eSoundz.torgo wrote:It sounded like a specific extra collection of sounds that would be one of the choices. That would be one of my bonus choices, but I don't want to get my ticket punched until I know for sure.
I think (and this is only my presumption) that the extra surprise Squids is preparing is probably to compensate us for the fact that the 1GB library never materialized.
That's great news Peter. Thanks for following up so quickly.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:I will make sure that is a request. Peter - if you're taking requests, could you have your in-house testers see how well the next generation of SampleTank can do loaded in Reaper in a Linux/WINE system?
I'm not saying anything Linux-specific needs to be written. Just try it out and see if it can fly.

Heck, torgo, *I* might try that for kicks. I spent years as a Linux sysadmin and open-source junkie. Sounds like fun

I'm planning on trying it too with various versions of SampleTank 2.
Reaper makes it an interesting possibility, since that one host works on Win/Mac/Linux with WINE platforms. Theoretically, you could save a project in any of the three environments and transport it to any of the others.
That was the beauty of PageMaker way back in the day - you could save a project from a DOS computer, and the page layout would look exactly the same if you loaded it on a Mac.
It's exciting to think music projects may hit that stage with Linux included. If so, I'd like to see SampleTank 3 be a part of it. To heck with Steinberg, NI, etc. IK would RULE!

i had anti twin check for identical files byte by byte. after 9 1/2 hours, it was half way done. i'll put a lower limit on kb next time. what i did find out, is that sample arp is in ss2 without the "prosolist" prefix. i've also found that sounds are repeated in sets with different programming for the layers. for instance, in cinematik, Piano String Brt.stw and String pad.stw are 2 identical 24mb files. there are a lot a repeats in the acoustic drum sample set. there are also a lot in my samplemoog. but back to the gb, in the piano collection, Acoustic Grand Piano.stw and Granduation Day.stw are 2 identical 151mb files

I wasn't going to join this a second time, but darn all of you for making this too hard to resist!!
Epointz go to Pheeleep because his was the first name I saw when I went looking for a someone to refer...
Quick question. I just got around to installing my goodies from the first go around tonight. Got the player installed fine, and started installing sounds, but I didn't see a way to install them on a different drive than the plug-in? It installed automatically to C:\IK Multimedia\Instruments. Can I move this folder to my data drive and point the plug-in to it later, or is there something I'm missing during the install? (If I have to redo the plug-in install that's no big deal, I haven't opened the plug-in yet, so I haven't completed the authorization process. I won't use up one of my install authorizations.) Thanks all.
PS - I'm enjoying the demos that are being shared, looks like everyone's having fun! Hopefully I'll get some time this weekend to start enjoying myself too!

You choose your library location within SampleTank. Prefs or, upon first startup you should be prompted. You can move them anywhere you'd like, point to that location and be done. If you do this now before installing more libraries, the added benefit is that future installs of Xpansion Tanks will then install to the library location you have chosen. Neat, eh?areemts1130 wrote:Quick question. I just got around to installing my goodies from the first go around tonight. Wow. That's pretty cool that you have an application that can give you that information.androidlove wrote:i had anti twin check for identical files byte by byte. after 9 1/2 hours, it was half way done. i'll put a lower limit on kb next time. what i did find out, is that sample arp is in ss2 without the "prosolist" prefix. i've also found that sounds are repeated in sets with different programming for the layers. for instance, in cinematik, Piano String Brt.stw and String pad.stw are 2 identical 24mb files. there are a lot a repeats in the acoustic drum sample set. there are also a lot in my samplemoog. but back to the gb, in the piano collection, Acoustic Grand Piano.stw and Granduation Day.stw are 2 identical 151mb files
I don't suppose there is an *easy* way to post your findings in detail?
I would actually like to REMOVE any instrument doubles that I have, because they *WILL* cause ID conflicts if the ID number has not been changed (which I know from experience will probably be the case if the files were just copied from one pack to another).
What kind of ID conflicts am I talking about? Well... for example... if you have a duplicate parent, and you save a child preset, it might get saved and stored as a child of the OTHER copy of the parent, in a completely different folder. That can make it easy to lose track of your custom presets, and scratching your head trying to figure out why you can't find the child preset which you just saved.

I'm a Mac user, I'm afraid (but not unhappy) to say.androidlove wrote:http://www.joerg-rosenthal.com/en/antit ... nload.htmlzedd wrote:you have an application that can give you that information.
Those files that you just listed in the above post are ALL from Piano Collection 1. Did you find them in another Xpansion pack, or did you already have Piano Collection 1?
