What? Do you men that every plug has a different look from the last one or muliple GUIs for the same Plug ?Chase wrote:i think every dev should be like jack dark and make different GUI's for every plug
Tim Conrardy's CYGNUS - Both GUIs now available

Fix it. Or not.

That's exactly what I'm actually trying to suggest with this GUI.
This is the first synth where I really just want to be Zen with it and blindly grab controls with the mouse and twirl away.
I would love a 'random' button - that just assigns random values to all parameters. I would assign automation to that random button 'seed' and just let the synth sing away to see what happens.

Yea, this is cool for that "trippy" feeling I so often crave but just somehow can't manage (sort of like that elusive "fresh" feeling).
Seriously, though, very interesting plug. Thanks very much!

I'm way late on this... but...
Cygnus is definitely my favorite Krakli synth every! The GUI is unique, and innovative, and the sound is grand. Tis a keeper in my folder. Bravo!

Must make a note to self not to use the FFS abbreviation, even in Jest as was intented.. As it obviously makes people think that I am losing my rag..emdot_ambient wrote:Woah, easy thar pardner!![]()
emdot you are right about the controls and I found myself using the wrong knob occasionally, but I feel that it part of the price to pay for experimenting with something different GUI-wise.. Part of the fun for me is trying out different GUIs and interface ideas, and of course these are not always as good to use as the standard knob or slider..

The GUI is very innovative. I like it.
Also the screaming vurtbox with its morphing numbers.
I have currently no use for Cygnus.
Although it offers interesting sounds, I have to watch the STAR-TREK series more often to get inspired. Scottie, beam me up.

well...yeah..its a space synth..so if you don't do space music, you won't use it.Although I am sure B&B sounds could be produced from it . Just like our M42 nebula was first produced for space sounds..but I found it can do some excellent B&B too, and made a patch bank to show it.( the second bank for registered users)PeterL wrote:The GUI is very innovative. However you might like the new thing Ian has up his sleeve for it.

Just wanted to make sure you didn't take my GUI comments the wrong way. I learned synth programming by randomly twiddling sliders on an ARP Axxe, so I can appreciate that kind of exploritory programming--Sofia being the best example of a totally exploritory experience--but once you get to know a synth enough that you start programming from a conceptual ("I want to create this kind of sound") approach, having the wrong knob suddenly start moving when you try and adjust a parameter is a litte (a little) annoying. It's a minor niggle.ianweb123 wrote:Must make a note to self not to use the FFS abbreviation, even in Jest as was intented.. I've started working on more presets, BTW
