Not exactly pretty. When and how much?

What?

Does that demo pic show it using up 100% of the CPU!? :?
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Well…

It sure doesn't look expensive, if you see what I mean. A rather pale, bland, washed-out look, as if you haven't decided if you want to go photo realistic all the way, or not.

I'm not impressed at all, sorry…

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Looks OK but "prettiness" of the gui is of no importance to me...

It just have to be functional.

With the greatest of respect - I think, if you asked, you might even find someone who'd do you a far superior GUI than that for free (Not me, fwiw). I urge you to do so.

Waste of space on amp sims (quite normal, unfortunately) becomes a new meaning. One of the uglier interfaces around to be sure.

So, does the plugin require the hardware as a dongle?
Also, what about CPU useage? If it does sound the same as the hardware, it should munch a multicore machine for breakfast.

I don't care how it looks. I'm more interested in how to sounds.

I don't care about how it looks either. But I *do* care about massive waste of space.

Well, I'm an Amplitube user, so I really don't care about massive waste of space either

Actually, all amp sims waste massive amounts of space. I have GR3, TH1, Amplitube Metal and LE. TH1 IMO is the easiest to navigate on less complexed setups, GR is a tad better for complexed sounds, but after all they're all wasting loads of screen estate.

Listen to that metal sound demo it sounds very similar to the Meshuggah POD 2.0 sound. I think they use axe fx now though. I get some awesome tones with POD Farm which is based off of the XT and it's aging hardware. I've tried a bunch of modelers too. Most of them can achieve good sounds but I can get great sounds from POD Farm. I haven't really heard stuff from the fx that would justify an expensive purchase let alone any purchase. Then again I haven't had the chance to sit down with one.

I'm not on the beta team so I don't know how it sounds
but according to the developer, if you use their input hardware
(also acts like a dongle) it will sound identical to the AXE-FX.

No idea about CPU but I assume you can max things out easily
if you go wild with the setups.... try the software, if you like it go
for the real deal... and save your CPU for other things.

I think the greatest thing about the AXE-PC is that it will allow
many more people to demo this amazing amp-sim.

I'm excited for all of you.

I like the Beck one the most. This and the vH one are the best in tone to me. This thingy can do some really good tones.

Like all modelers there is a crowd of fanboys who say it the best thing ever in the whole wide world. Its so rich and has great dynamics, its warm, musical, and has this and that and whatever bla bla bla

That being the ultimate truth for the modeler fanbase--its price that will matter most---as each modeler does some things very well. Even if this does more things well than anything else--it will be price that matters most to buyers.

I say this because this guy overcharges.... so his customers are only fanboy fanatics at this point. He cant mass produce so he rapes the fanboys. But even with the software I hear he is attaching a useless box to it so he can jack up the price
