Sorry my ignorance, im not much in the guitar&amplifier world.
The point of this plugins is to model any pitched soundsource into an acoustic or only electric guitar can be the source?
Thanks!

well Marce it was designed for guitar, but it would be interesting to hear what It would do with other sound sources too. Wonder what a sax would sound like with it?

Hi Rene

Good luck with this project. The holy grail of vst effects for sure. It sounds great already. The only other comment is that the output sounds maybe a bit bass heavy, but easy to fix anyhow. great work. Cant wait to try out the finished version.

I have uploaded a guitar snip from a tune I've been playing round with - "Come to This" by The Sleepy Jackson. It was done using a Fender Squire through a Roland Edirol A/D box into Reaper. (Not very good playing I'm afraid).

Or the WAV version is at-

There is a completed version of that tune on Youtube - just do a search for "thertag" if you are interested.

I'm not sure how to access your beta version at this stage. maybe I need to read your post a bit more thoroughly. Not sure how you will send the finished version either. Will it be through KRV or do you need an email?

Cheers

Hey Stewart...

I have a rough beta of this somewhere, but I got stuck at the 12 string emulation. The problem is the latency from adjusting to the second octave. It sort of makes the sound as if you have doubled it with a delay. So I am hoping that sooner or later I can get a better handle on the latency. Also the IR files that we were used in this were from another company no longer wants to do this, so that has been a major setback.

Once I can again dedicate more time to this I'll get back to it. Funny that you posted here I was going over all our older projects and either archiving or escalating, this one was escalated..

If you are curious what we're up to right now in terms of current projects. Here is the latest beta of Shred amp sim suite for free download..

Hi Ken

Great to hear from you but very sorry to hear that the Acoustic Sim project has run into some stumbling blocks. I thought the demo samples I heard were very impressive and certainly very useable quality. I hope you do find time to develop it to the point of "birth". All the other stuff you have done sounds great too. I'll be checking Shred beta a bit later tonight, so thanks for that link.

If you locate the beta of the Acoustic Simulator I would love to have a play with it. So please keep me posted if that becomes a possibility. It's certainly the closest sim I have heard so far. Congratulations!

Best of luck with all you are doing.

Thanks again

Stewart

Well see thats the problem Stewart, I absolutely was ready for this to go to public beta months and months ago, but I have not the permission to distribute it in any form as I do not own the IR files for it. They are a Key Part to it. I would love to get this thing out there though because as you say, Acoustic sim is one of the holy grails of simulator technology...

Hi Ken

That's sad news because from my research the Boss AC2/AC3 pedals are the nearest thing to what everyone wants, and I thought your sim sounded much more realistic than they do.

So it's a real shame that the IR files you need are not available. Maybe some alternatives will become available inthe future. Sure hope so. If that happens please keep me posted, if you can.

Good luck with it, and all your other creations, and thanks for all the info.

Cheers

Yeah there was a lot of research into String movement done by Roland, It was a very interesting if not hair pulling read..haha

Wait is this the same project as the first post or is someone making a new acoustic modeler?

Post

This project looked like it was abandoned so I stepped up and made what you hear from the demo on one of the previous pages. But my effort got stalled.

It would be really nice to have a good acoustic modeler/simulator VST. I have a Boss AC-3, it's pretty nice, but a VST would be better.

Post

There's nothing nice about the sound of a Boss AC-3. If you have any respect for your craft you'll record a real acoustic guitar.

Hope that helps!
