I've noticed that a lot of factory presets just make "whining" sounds. Whats up with that? Sometimes changing the quality to Normal/High will fix it, but sometimes not. Some sounds are practically silent, even if given enough time for attack. Wtf?
noise and beats: Negutyv Xeiro do people actually click these?

I believe your solution lies here:xybre wrote:I've noticed that a lot of factory presets just make "whining" sounds. Whats up with that? Sometimes changing the quality to Normal/High will fix it, but sometimes not. Some sounds are practically silent, even if given enough time for attack. Wtf?

Well I had called them and get my serial email push from there system cause it got stuck. It was quite fast so anyone who didn't get there serial I would recommend the phone call approach and be ready with your order number

Doh. I'm sad I paid even 20 bucks for this. I'm horrified.Shabdahbriah wrote:I believe your solution lies here:xybre wrote:I've noticed that a lot of factory presets just make "whining" sounds. Don't be "sad"... It's sucks - yes, and it should NOT be so ~ BUT this is a really awesome synth with a gazillion banks available for it.
I'm not alone in having paid a whole lot more for it "fresh", but I still love it.
Took me all of 30 minutes to load and re-save close to 45 full banks when "I" went through this... even while eating pizza.

The only drawbacks are slight delay in getting the serial (if you're unlucky, I got mine straight away), and having to install the demo version and load/save some of the 3rd party banks so they will sound properly in the pay-version.
Small price to pay on top of the $20 for a brilliant synth. I find it to be stable, low on CPU and very editable.
Remember, you not only get the VSTi synth, you get the separate Z3ta+ VST effects which are great in themselves and can of course be used on top of whatever.

Here are some simple written instructions for the Virus z3ta+ mod V2 as there are some differences from the old instructions for previous versions of z3ta+.
==========================
Virus Z3ta+ MOD V2 for z3ta+ 1.5.3
==========================
01. Duplicate your main "z3ta+" folder and its contents into your VSTI location and rename to "Virus z3ta+" or "Virus_z3ta+", etc.
NOTE: All further revisions and addition will now be done in the new Virus z3ta+ folder.
02. Place "z3ta+.dll" at root level in the main Virus_z3ta+ folder and rename to "Virus_z3ta+.dll". Note there is a sub-folder in the main Virus_z3ta+ folder labeled "z3ta+" as well.
03. Create folder labeled "Programs" in main Virus_z3ta+ folder.
04. Extract "default.fxb" to "Programs" from "Bank.zip" located in the "Virus_z3ta+ MOD v2.zip".
05. Extract and overwrite new skin to "Resources" folder from the "Skins.zip" located in the "Virus_z3ta+ MOD v2.zip".
06. Extract and overwrite new arpeggios to "Arpeggio" folder from the "Arpeggio.zip" located in the "Virus_z3ta+ MOD v2.zip".
06. Extract and overwrite new "oscill.set" to "Wavetables" folder from the "Waves.zip" located in the "Virus_z3ta+ MOD v2.zip".
07. Delete "User1-4.pcm" from "Wavetables" folder if they exist.
08. You can also delete redundant "Documentation" folder if you like.
Note: To check for proper installation, confirm sine wave shape when half saw is selected. Load Virus_z3ta+, initialize under "Program" button, select half saw under osc 1, select "Shaper" to confirm sine wave shape.
I'm having a problem installing the Z3ta+ Virus Mod V2.
My main Z3ta+ folder is here:
C>Program Files(x86)>Cakewalk>Z3ta+
This folder contains the following
Arpeggios folder
Documentation folder
MIDI folder
Presets folder
Resources folder
Tunings folder
User manual folder
Wabetables folder
Then, in my VST folder, I have a folder named z3ta+ and it contains the following files:
Z3ta+.dll
Z3ta+ application
Z3ta+_fx.dll
Z3ta+_fx2.dll
So my dll files are not in the main Z3ta folder located under C>Program Files(x86)>Cakewalk>Z3ta+
They are in a separate folder in my VST folder.
These instructions do not seem to apply in my case..

Move all folders to where the dll is or at least make one called Programs and put the default.fxb there. Worked for me.

For more free z3ta+ presets: go to youtube and search for z3ta presets (not zeta presets) by LorDBassePL
You will find a huge free pack called Future Pop & EBM -> 1024 patches
Maybe someone can rename and catalogize/categorize them, I started but gave up ...
too much of them and some sound very similar. Seems like they are created with a preset generator.
But if that's not enough, there are also the club presets und euphoric presets volumes
so thank you very much Dan Rott a.k.a LorDBassePL
and merry christmas to all of you...
