I'm a mess this week, no question.
NOPE! Changed a preset, CRASH!

I'm over it, I'll try the x86 dll and see if it's salvageable....if not, I'm going back to 3.01 (I don't seem to have a 3.02)

Do you have to go to the custom shop to activate the free gear?
From what i understand, I have to go to custom shop to activate my ampeg svx
for use in at3 free,no other way, correct?
I keep my UAC turned off.DO I have to turn UAC on, and log in as administrator
to install at3 free, and ampeg svx?
Thanks, Bill
Yes but you can not use the Custom Shop feature without an internet connection.

Correct but after you click "restore my gear" then it'll authorize it and you'll be done.

I would install it as admin if I were you.
festeringheap wrote:Hi Brian

I notice that Amp 3.5 Free comes with THREE microphones.

If I have NO Amplitube suites (3, Fender, Metal etc...) purchased already and,

if I buy a cab through Custom Shop, are just those three Amp3.5Free mics available to me?

Does buying a particular cab come with all available microphones used in that particular modeling?

Or do I have to buy all available mics at 5 credits each?
No you can buy additional microphones but when you buy a cab you can only use the mics you have.

No, they are absolutely not!
Yes and no. Its full featured but has less gear models.

chrisby wrote:This might be answered elsewhere but... does the new release no longer load everything you own as one big blob for each instance? Seems if I remember right each instance would take about ~250mb of memory. Not such an issue these days for most but back in the day more than a few instances would necessitate a track/freeze and archive in Sonar....

I think the rationale was so you could switch between different models w/o having to wait (which is fair enough) but if that's not how it's being used I wonder if they've allowed for that.
With Amplitube 3.5 it's slightly more than 300 MB per instance in Reaper. This is no good at all so I guess I have to limit my guitar tracks to... 4 per project (yes, without the hassle of freezing etc). Hrmpf. Fancy interfaces though.
Right click audio -> Apply track FX to items as New Take. :)
No longer with IK. Here is my Website | Twitter | YouTube | Facebook | Instagram

Guys, to use Jam Points in Custom Shop, what you need to do is first decide which Gear Credits pack you want to purchase. Go to the ADD CREDITS tab and choose one. Next, sign in to your IK User Account, and click the [Redeem] button on the left side of the screen under your user name.

Put in the amount of JamPoints you want to use, no more than half the purchase price of the Gear Credit pack you want to buy (this is why you choose your pack first.) Hit the [GENERATE] button to get your Promo Code that you will use for Gear Credits.

Now return to the Custom Shop application, and click the [BUY CREDITS] button of your choice now, if you haven't already. This will take you to the Billing & Shipping Information screen. At the bottom of this page, you will see a field to enter in your Promo Code, just above the [PROCEED TO CHECKOUT] button. Paste in your Promo Code, and then proceed to checkout.

there, that's better.

I'm going to see is checking out the custom models is possible and all but the x64 version seems to have required more work from the beta team.

That's fine. I didn't put my boxing gloves on, for YOUR record... But there is enough room to swing the cat, so:

I'm just so tired of the biggest commercial companies like IK getting all the attention. Audiffex just released a new amp/fx suite, and I haven't seen anything about it on this forum yet. And there are great things happening in the free world all the time.

For you Soldano lovers: At guitarampmodeling.com there is an amp called NRR1, that's supposed to be something like a Soldano (SLO 100?). Try to compare. I don't say NRR1 sounds like a real Soldano, I never played one. But is the AT Soldano better? AT might have taken pictures of them measuring a real Soldano back and forth. But how much better did that make their Soldano model? Was it worth the bucks over a free model?

That was just one example.

Anyway: Why do we care? What we are discussing here is: What is the best frozen factory made pizza. We all know that we have to go to a real italian restaurant to get a great pizza. Or maybe make it ourselves. I'll stop eating frozen pizza. Real amps for me! And a few free amps/fx (like NRR1 and TSE 808) for living room made demos.

Good night everybody!

This sounds just too damn complicated! Another thing that once again made me NOT buying amplitube... So many other complicated things, not working in this or that DAW, authencification issues, gear and presets disappearing, etc. etc...

Tell me: Did you beta test this at all? I don't think about the software only, also the whole Custom Shop thing? And were any of the beta testers actually guitarists on a low budget?

Now that the whole useless "x64" thing has been ditched and I'm actually able to enjoy the custom shop.

Easy peesy to check out the new models...takes seconds :)

What I DON'T like is that the cabs are totally ala carte, but I'll live.

The tiny terror is pretty much exactly what I thought it would be...

Well, You think that's complicated ??
Enter VAT :
I thought, I'll be clever and do NOT redeem half of the credit pack, I chose,
BUT redeem half of the chosen credit pack + VAT.
Then I come here again, and read that I can only use Jam Points for half the pack price, without VAT.
Now my redeem code holds 4,- EUR too much.
I guess it will be rejected, or will the 4 EUR be cut off ??
:help:

I'm gonna file a ticket ...
:?

bye, Jan

It's not complicated at all.
1) Decide what you want
2) Redeem your JamPoints in your IK User Account
3) enter the Promo Code at checkout in Custom Shop.
Is that really too complicated to get up to 50% off?

To solve gear disappearing, just click the "Restore My Gear" tab. To solve disappearing presets, browse to C:\Users\[username]\Documents\IK Multimedia\AmpliTube 3\BackupPresets and copy them over to ...\Presets. Then refresh your Preset Browser in AmpliTube 3.5. We moved the location of presets from Program Files to make AmpliTube fully compatible with Windows UAC.

The other cool thing about jampoints, is once you buy some stuff using your jampoints...your jampoints go up due to your new purchase. I started out with 22 jampoints, used 19, made some purchases and now I'm already back up to 12.

I think I'm good for now in terms of satisfying my GAS, but I'm definitely hoping the CE-2 and Small Clone that have been alluded to are coming up soon. I also really want to see IK do this with T-Racks and finally get out an 1176, LA-2A, and LA-3A so I can finally retire those plugins on my UAD card like I did with the T-Racks Fairchild and Pultec.

Are the tape delay and triangle chorus no longer part of Fender SE? I've done everything over and over every which way and they are only things that stay locked. Should I just buy them again in the custom shop? Not a huge deal but enough to prevent me from buying anything else.

Here it's more like :
1) Decide what you want
- I want to redeem the rest of my JamPoints, before they fade away, completely.
2) multiply your current JamPoints with 2.
3) make a guess about how VAT comes in.
( or spend a few hours searching through threads and guides )
4) choose a credit pack, that is closest to 2x_your_JamPoints+VAT
5) redeem an EUR less than chosen_credit_pack+VAT/2
6) find out by chance, that the correct math is : chosen_credit_pack/2
7) find a way out of this mess ...

constructive advice :
guides about how VAT is involved, need to be posted,
everywhere, where JamPoints and CredtPacks can be redeemed / payed.

bye, Jan

Post

Why would VAT be factored into JamPoints?
I don't believe you can pay your taxes with JamPoints or even Monopoly money. ;)

VAT is a percentage of what you spent, added to the total.
If you are buying the $99.99 Gear Credit pack, then you redeem $50.
You spend $49.99, and pay VAT on that out of your own pocket.
It really is not that complicated...

For the love of god :x

Is this thing on???? testing......1..2.......check check......

Is there nobody that is using this under x64? Is it really just me? There was one person somewhere that mentioned that it crashed cubase x64. I got that in sonar x1 and in reaper, the mouseover doesn't work. The x86 version works fine bridged on either host I'm using.

Anyone?
