Well, this was an effective giveaway for me, I'm thinking about buying the whole suite now. Trying to decide between that and EZMix2.
It seems a lot of the negative reviews I've read in online magazines are because of the price and the idea that these kind of tools somehow show a lack of respect for audio engineering.
Maybe, but the sale prices are pretty decent this month!

Thanks. I thought i wasn't sure if that was a demo thing. That would get annoying pretty quick! The waveshell crashes maschine anyway but i came across a possible fix after i uninstalled it lol. The whole waves license/update thing is pretty confusing though.standalone wrote:No.musikmachine wrote:That's alright! btw should I have to log in to waves license thingy every time I want to use the plugins?

If I remember it well, you don't need to log in every time you use one of their demos either; are you having that issue?

For some reason i had to keep activating the demos each time i wanted to use them but they've run out now. I'm using the usb stick instead with one knob and everything is working, even waveshell in maschine.standalone wrote:If I remember it well, you don't need to log in every time you use one of their demos either; are you having that issue?

I've received the download link, but the registration process seems too annoying for just one knob.
I'll pass on that.

The idea is to buy moar plugins.
Yeah it was a bit tbh, i had to debug my laptop to install the wivo then all this weird license manager stuff. It's all a bit convoluted dealing with demos etc but i like the One knob plugins...

I eventually got the link.
Two things made me not even click it;
First, ridiculously hard time finding out WTF IT DOES.
Yes, one knob, great. "Easy!"
Name it after the end result, fine.
Can we know what it does.....?
I mean, its Waves. "Pro" shit. A Pro would care, no?
Second, the (was it) fifteen step offline process.
Absolutely fukking insane.
How they can possibly not know how much that hurts business is beyond me.
If it makes people pass on a freebie, it could easily frustrate the shit out of paying customers.
Although, imagine if they made the Louder freebie a painless standalone offline installer. Now imagine you bought it the month previous and had to pay to take the fifteen steps.
They cant win.
And of course the big factor for my skip, the wait.
But, my initial excitement would have easily got me past those first two issues, if the wait hadnt killed it.
I am sure they sold an absolute shit ton of plugs that weekend though, and I dont hold much of any of this 'against' them. Its just stupid, and that much more stupid for a company at the top of the Pro heap.

how about just contacting Waves support. it only takes a minute to type and send them a message. the other option probably takes longer and oh the moral paingrimwalker wrote:It's 11 December 2012, and I've got none on my email. Does it mean I can "yar har" plugin from "uncharted seas"?

Guess I should have added "j/k"
Still, I have to say I feel slightly ripped, as their "free one-knob" offer made me buy one of their bundles, and then - bah - no freebie. And now I have to contact them? And probably I will have problems because I requested freebie from other mail account than I have bought plugs. Too much hassle imho, especially that my english is not so good.
Overall, Waves failed this one, they could've just released it for free as One Knob Bundle promo.

My sharpometer is at 0 today. Totally understand, the plugin was a gimme that reeled me in too. If it wasn't for the problems i had with the license manager i probably would have bought a few. On the upside (depending on your pov) the other ones are on sale for $23.
