Would a size of 1366 be too large for some laptops, plus the ability to see part of the DAW ? 1024 would be a comfortable size, the main issue, I would think is the text size on the current GUI.

Hi Kirsty you have my support,i agree with your decision :) (it's getting too digital :D)
Thank you very much for the larger GUI and extra racks ,can't wait to see the next development i would love to see many more modules in the future ,some of those Hardware modular systems have something like 100+ modules to choose from :)

Maomoondog ,(Bernhard Gößling)i just recently realized that you were one of the original keyboardist from the very popular 80's band Alphaville.when i started learning synthesizers ,i recreated some popular 80s new wave songs and one of my first covers was big in japan, last night i was watching some youtube videos of some alphaville tv/show appearances and i was memerized by your style of playing ,the new romantic look you had back then and those extraordinary 80s dance moves :D ,i'm so glad that you are here in KVR.I love alphaville :)

Thank you Sergio. I am happy that Alphaville was an inspiration to you, I only hope our dress sense (or lack of it) and our (very poor) dance moves were not as inspiring for you :D The fashion police was not around when we were :hihi:
Some very good times were had all the same, fond memories. Thank you kindly for your words. :tu:

It's really not practical to keep the editor because I want to do so much more with it, but I'm limited
by the the VST screen size and slow refresh rate.
I will write a dedicated full screen app with many more waveform/wavetable/sample creation features.

I have enlarged each module by about 25%. and it's still fully visible on my laptop screen inside Orion.
I've made the knobs oversize so there is more than enough room on each module for large clear labels. Also, I'm writing the code to accomodate up to 128 'racks' for some time in the future when I can afford a 4K monitor

What I am going to concentrate on now is...
1. Make a larger GUI to the maximum scale of my 1366x768 Laptop display while still fitting within my plugin host.
2. Add more virtual 'rack' slots as Sergio requested a while back.
3. Improve the sequencer.
4. Optimize the existing modules and then add some more.

+1 on all points Kirsty. I look forward to the addition of more modules and welcome a bigger GUI

Thank you.

Is anyone aware of limitations on VSTi window size or is it just Orion?
I can't seem to get it to display more than 1172 pixels wide.

Thanks kirsty

Please Kirsty, if you can, keep the size 1024, as some of us can enjoy it even on old monitors as long as Santa will not come around
Thanks anyway as always for this really neat and nice piece of vst engineering :)
Cheers

+1 for ridiculous number of module slots! :wheee:

Sorry Sergio, but no chance
The best I can fit on my laptop screen is two rows of ten modules, each 100x256 pixels.
That's the final size I'm aiming for until I get to version 1.0
After that I have some ideas for two sided modules (aka, a view of each modules rear panel) or
possibly a zoom in/out interface. Scroll bars are an option but not my favorite choice.

Aww.. OK, OK... :P

I personally would rather not have Reason-style "front and back" flipping, but I can see why
you'd rather not do scroll bars, either; patch cords and scroll bars aren't a happy combination.

Would there maybe be a possibility of "drag-to-scroll" when holding a patch cord, or "switch-to-grab" when the mouse isn't hovering over a control/cord? I'm sure you've probably considered these things, but
in case not, I figured I'd toss it out there.

Thanks again for the continued effort and updates- hope your days are migraine-free ;)

Hello Kirsty, a drag (scroll) system by holding the left key on any empty space of the panel ,and by dragging the mouse up or down ,would be great ,this is a nice method and avoids any side scroll bar,i'm not to sure about the zoom in zoom out feature but is always a nice addiction ,and would help with major complex patching .
"two rows of ten modules" that gives us 20 modules ,4 more that what we already have ,but it's still restrictive on some complex patches,i need more modules :D i can't figure any other solution that some kind of scroll system (cant wait to v1.0).
thank you for all the hard work ,there isn't a day that i don't peek at this forum for more news and developments :)

Version 0.58
http://www.datafilehost.com/d/c49649cd

This might have some issues with FL Studio as i have changed the way the GUI is drawn.
But it works fine for me in Orion.

@Sergio
I have sent you a Kvr PM with a link to a special modified version for FL Studio compatibility.
Hope it works for you :)
