Hi Jim!

When dragging in one of the generators, how does RC determine which notes to use/display? Are they pre-set notes/scales/phrases, or are they randomly generated? Sorry if this is too basic and also asked in wrong thread.

The dragged phrases are generated randomly, based on the default parameters. So the parameters are always the same (not random), but the phrase is generated randomly.

Why is there no Stop button in Phrase Editor?

You can stop phrase preview by clicking on the Play button.

Why does cursor not move during playback in phrase editor?
Why does cursor not return to beginning when play is stopped?

It is not meant to show the live playback position.
At the moment the cursor position is used for pasting notes.
Moving the cursor during playback will be implemented later.

Why do notes not appear in phrase editor until recording is stopped?

This will also be implemented soon.

How is the work on a new version of the rules of the chords?
I am still interested in the possibility of introducing chord rules using MIDI Controller + Attila wrote "The progression editor page will be removed in v3, it will be placed as a strip at the top of the chord palette, and as you suggested at the top of the progression rule editor. Thank you for the reminder, lulukom. I am afraid this task will be done later, maybe after v3.0. I am happy with the stability but I advance with the development slower than I expected.

Now shared rythm work much better. I see when i save phrases with b10 they are store in roaming\rapidcomposer\customphrases\generator presets. should they not store in rapidcomposerv3 folder ?

I notice when save a phrase with a shared rythm, and too delete all phrases in tracks before, and i load it in, it is not correct load. rythm is always the last used and not what i save. Same happen when there are other phrases in.

let me know, if i should send you the saved phrases (dyads Run Generator) or a video, if you can not confirm

using the beta and i am wondering if it is possible that the divisions between tracks could be made more distinct or is there a skin available with that? as it is i find it hard to drag a phrase to a track and be sure it got the right track.

Yes, that is right. Because old v2 settings are imported, the customs phrases directory should be manually modified (if needed) and phrases should be copied to a new directory (again, if needed). Please check Settings / Locations.

I wrote this in the first post of this topic:

The only exception is the custom phrases directory, which is the same as it was in v2 (because v2 settings are imported first).

Whats need to be done between the current beta and official release?

Let's see:
- rhythm browser, easily loading/saving a rhythm pattern
- new variation: "slice notes with rhythm"
- drag and drop rhythm from one phrase to the other (or from rhythm browser to phrases). Behaviour depends: for ordinary phrases "slice notes with rhythm" variation is added, for generators the rhythm is replaced. Other possible behaviours may be implemented later.
- idea tool rewrite

I think that is all. I don't want to pack more features into v3 because the last stable release was a long time ago, last summer.

Good idea, I will add a color setting for the divisions between track.
