You have a folder "Cobalt Ressources" and an inifile called "Cobalt" (not the dll file!). The Cobalt Ressources Folder contains the graphics, the inifile has all the definition stuff. You could open with editor.
1) Rename "Cobalt Ressources" Folder to "Cobalt Ressources old" or whatever
2) Rename the inifile to "Cobalt old" or whatever
If the skin comes with it's own Ressources folder, just copy it to the Cobalt vst folder. Then copy the cobalt inifile to the Cobalt vst folder.
Here is my folders and files:
Cobalt Resources <<-- this is the actual folder contains all nes skin graphics
Cobalt Resources (original version) <<-- original folder, to keep original skin
Cobalt.dll <<-- the dll
Cobalt <<-- the active inifile
Cobalt_black (rename to Cobalt) <<-- other skin inifile
Cobalt_original (rename to Cobalt) <<-- other skin inifile
Cobalt_white (rename to Cobalt) <<-- other skin inifile
If you wanna change the skins often, sure you could edit the first line in the inifiles and give different relative paths to the skin folders:
[resources]
; Relative path to directory containing image files
path=Cobalt Resources
That way you could have several ressource folders, rename them to remember what skin it is and just rename the inifiles later.
In my example it would be:
Cobalt Resources <<-- this is the actual folder contains all new skin graphics
Cobalt Resources Black <<-- folder
Cobalt Resources White <<-- folder
Cobalt Resources Original <<-- folder
Cobalt.dll <<-- the dll
Cobalt <<-- the active inifile with path "Cobalt Ressources"
Cobalt_black (rename to Cobalt) <<-- other skin inifile with path "Cobalt Ressources Black"
Cobalt_original (rename to Cobalt) <<-- other skin inifile with path "Cobalt Ressources White"
Cobalt_white (rename to Cobalt) <<-- other skin inifile with path "Cobalt Ressources Original"

If you want to use one of my skins, you can just add the png-files from Cobalt Studio Skins\Cobalt Resources to your Cobalt Resources folder. They have different names than the original files so nothing gets overwritten. And replace the Cobalt.ini file in your Cobalt folder with the one of the skin you want to use.

Nice one Studio4 and Cruba, good size for a middling laptop (768 vert.).
