Well, as my mother is dead for 9 years, I can't much listen to anything she has to say anymore can I.vurt wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:34 pmno. and more importantly, stop listening to her now.thecontrolcentre wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:28 pmYeah. But if you expect civility after telling me to go f**k myself (in the quoted thread) you need to apologise.

As for letting things go, easier said than done. The sum total of what we endure in our lives is what makes us what we are. I suppose that I should also let go that my father abandoned me at age 5. I suppose I should let go the bullies in grammar school who beat me to a pulp each day.
I could go on but there's little point.

Then colour me impressed.wagtunes wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:26 pmAgainst my better judgment, I did just listen to one piece of advice in this thread and removed my foe list. It's become too difficult to follow these threads with half the forum on ignore.
Change has to start somewhere and it looks like you might be starting a new chapter.

There it is again ... a lack of understanding followed by excuses. You need to stop blaming your circumstances, upbringing, school bullies et al. You can do anything (within reason) if you really believe in yourself. We all have troubles ...wagtunes wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:40 pm Well, as my mother is dead for 9 years, I can't much listen to anything she has to say anymore can I.

Read your own post: Your mother said music is a miserable business, and you should have listened to her.
If you believe it’s miserable, don’t share your misery here and troll your helpers.

I know. We all have our troubles. Many people have had worse lives than myself. I am well aware of that.thecontrolcentre wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:49 pmThere it is again ... a lack of understanding followed by excuses. So let's rewind this back to my goals and, more importantly, why.
My goals are modest. Get a song professionally recorded and released with a chance that somebody somewhere might actually buy it.
Okay, now the why.
It's not for money and it's certainly not for fame. Nobody knows who most songwriters are anyway. It's just to be able to say that I did it, something I'd been trying to do for a long time.
After I've achieved this modest goal, quite honestly, I probably won't care anymore. I'll be content with my life regardless of what happens after that. If more comes my way, great. If not, that's fine too.
This may not make sense to anybody here but that's my goal.
I don't need to be the next Diane Warren.

I believe the entertainment business in general is incredibly hard. I'm not entirely sold on the "miserable" part yet. Truth is, I haven't had enough success in the business to find out if it's miserable.Michael L wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:52 pmRead your own post: Your mother said music is a miserable business, and you should have listened to her.

Thanks CC.thecontrolcentre wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:21 pm nice to see you're back around Benedict. Any plans to update the Studio Packs to 64 bit?
No, becasue I don't even have the files anymore and I'm not so sure it would even be possible.

I think it's a damn good ideawagtunes wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2019 8:09 pm I think it may be time for me to lock this thread. All these people on my ignore list who clearly know how much I despise them poking their nose in where it's not wanted just because they know it's going to piss me off has gotten to the point where I've had enough.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
