Cubase 12 released

I just checked in my account to see if there is any way to sell Cubase 12 if we want to and there is nothing there. My old elicencer just says "not upgrade-able", and oddly it says that it was activated today even though I have had it for years. The new Cubase 12 licence is a very long row of numbers registered to computer 1. So where do we go if we want to sale Cubase 12? Is it in that other account that I always lose the login to?
On the plus side I now have a possible 4 computers to use Cubase on as I can still boot up Cubase 11 with the old elicencer and three more for Cubase 12.

I don't think there is an automated way yetdellboy wrote: Wed Mar 02, 2022 8:08 pm So where do we go if we want to sale Cubase 12? Is it in that other account that I always lose the login to?
Obviously you'd need to deactivate Cubase 12, on all machines. Then you'd ask them how you transfer ownership of a license.. Though some people seem to be struggling to get any response from their CS lately.

Studio One has had that for 5 years.dellboy wrote: Wed Mar 02, 2022 2:29 pm I am working my way through the new features, and I have found one I will actually use - the audio to chords feature.
I played some random chords into an audio track to generate a wave and dragged it into the chord track which told me what chords I had just played. I am forever playing stuff and forgetting what I just played, and also not being sure of what chord I just made up, so something useful.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

I agree. Development time can be spent on enhancing features at which Cubase is already good.LeVzi wrote: Wed Mar 02, 2022 7:36 pmThey want ableton features in Cubase. They should go over to Ableton. Why mess up a perfectly good linear DAW with those kinda fucntions.pixel85 wrote: Wed Mar 02, 2022 4:59 pmActually, plenty of Cubase users have been asking for it on the Steinberg forum (I'm not one of them).LeVzi wrote: Wed Mar 02, 2022 1:46 pm Clip launcher like the one in Ableton ?
I can't imagine any Cubase user wanting that. It would be easier to get Ableton if that's your thing.

motorized faders supporting in MCU (have FaderPort) in Rack is priceless: BC Patchwork loves it...

and the grid finally visually supports quantization (shuffling) also priceless ("The grid in the Sample Editor can now be set to the global Quantize settings allowing to set the grid to triplets, for example." ... I know S1 for 5 years
)
personally don't want a clip launcher, track versions should support automation instead...

Are you sure it's a bug? I feel like it was like that since forever. I'm moving finished projects to a separate folder but every few months I'm cleaning up default Projects folder with tons of empty onesVitaminD wrote: Wed Mar 02, 2022 7:54 pm Plus there has been a bug in the past couple versions of Cubase not removing project folders if a new project isn't saved. This leads to a ton of empty folders if you enjoy jumping into Cubase, trying something, then jumping out without saving.

Does anyone know what, for example, Vengeance is doing after eLicenser has been discontinued? According to Steinberg, it will still take a while until the licence servers are switched off (~18 months) but the end of eLicenser has been decided.

Revealing parameter automation of a 3rd party plugin is still PITA? Click 'W', move knob/fader?
I had hoped that they will rework the entire automation system, but it looks like they only updated this archaic Quick Controls system.

Yep, when they ditched the dongle on Avenger they said they're working on updates for their other plugins, which will remove eLicenser (Presumably they will use similar activation to Avenger.. )4damind wrote: Wed Mar 02, 2022 8:43 pm Does anyone know what, for example, Vengeance is doing after eLicenser has been discontinued? that's definitely a silly feature Cubase always had. The same way as having to name a project before you start working on it.pixel85 wrote: Wed Mar 02, 2022 8:41 pmAre you sure it's a bug? Yes its a bug or 'known and reported issue' at least according to the Steinberg forum rep. I have it logged over there. It is essentially the only thing I really was asking for in C12, so I hope it made the cut!pixel85 wrote: Wed Mar 02, 2022 8:41 pmAre you sure it's a bug? I feel like it was like that since forever. Is there a Cubase 12 manual available as a PDF?
Edit: just found this:
Cubase 12.0.0 Operation Manual
Please note that the Operation Manual for version 12 is a work in progress, so that information may be missing, or may refer to functionality currently not implemented in Cubase. The Operation Manual will be updated in time for the first maintenance update of Cubase 12.
Does this mean that there is no C12 PDF manual available?
