Biggest issue would possibly be running it in Rosetta mode, 11.0 took ages to start (we're really talking several minutes here, like <10), in 11.0.1 that's down to some seconds (still considerably longer than in silicon-mode). There's also being folks reporting issues when copying and pasting regions, but apparently that has been fixed, too.HREQ wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 11:43 pm I late to party someoen give me rundown good or bad what there be?
Otherwise, for me it's running nicely, but I'd still recommend backing up 10.8.1 (just copy it to some safe space).
As far as the new features go, Stem Separation is fun (and pretty decent) for me but I don't really need it, the new virtual players are fine, too, but I hate where things are going these days in general, so I rather try not to use them. The new instruments coming along with them are fine, the basses are even almost great, but there's issues with the Studio Bass plugin, most notably very high CPU usage when actually playing it via MIDI at low buffersizes (can't be justified by the quality).ChromaGlow seems to be a great saturation effect, but far from being something revolutionary at all.
In a nutshell, for me it's a very underwhelming update for a big version number jump. And I'd rather see them finally adressing some longstanding issues. But I doubt that'll ever happen.

I've been waiting for a dedicated plugin like ChromaGlow for a long time and it doesn't disappoint. It takes a while to get the best out of it, to warm up tracks but it's worth it.
Also loving the session Bass player - just playing the bass from a keyboard and working with the new GUI has changed using plugin bass over my real bass for me now. The bass models sound really good and sit so well in a mix with my tests so far.... Pluging in my trusty Rickenbacker, as I usually do, takes more work to get it sounding as good now and it's less editable. Way to go Logic!

I have found a good use for Logics session bass player. I created a decent bass part for my track, but as I am not a bassist I cant play good fills, but session player can! Couple of clicks and my bass part has perfect fills.

I like Chromaglow, however it doesn't seem to have any built in oversampling (unless it does it automatically under the hood).
It makes me reluctant to use it on 48khz sessions. Maybe I should do everything in 96khz going forward and forget about aliasing

Yeah, that one uses a lot of CPU as is.. nevermind adding oversamplingJ Veronica wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 10:21 pm I like Chromaglow, however it doesn't seem to have any built in oversampling (unless it does it automatically under the hood).

I hope so
Probably only going to use it on drum shells and baritone vocals. Should be safe from aliasing, lol.

It sounds superb imho. I just wish I could use it more. But high CPU prohibits me to do so. So idk if Apple can optimize that or wether that’s down to super high oversampling under the hood that can’t be user configured (I hope they change that).
