So far so good. Being my first monitors, I'll be having to put in some more time before I can make a full assesment. I'll have to pay attention to that low end!serge wrote:Hey crazed,

Hey Realmarco, you mean my "DeskTOP SST 5000 Proserge: where did you get that wonderfull thing you put your Speakers and monitror on ?
Built it. Couldn't find anything that could support the weight of all the crap I wanted to put on the top, without sacrificing the space on my desk, so I charted this bad boy in MS Excell, $60 bucks worth of scraps & rags & other supplies, I had this perfectly engineered piece. This used to support a HUGE monitor, plus everything else, and it's just high enough to hide my equipment underneath for a clean look.
If you want I'll upload my Excelt spreadshit, which in addition to dimensions, I think lists out the parts, but in a nutshell: 1 inch particle board, about 5 yards of a heavy black fabric, a 2 x 6 board, a bunch of screws, and staple gun w/ staples.

Here is a little montage:

Not in the picture is a lot off (old) stuff I keep stored in a large closet (DX7 [broken], several vintage effect boxes, another guitar amp, SQ10 sequencer, 2 more guitars, mikes etc.).

Bet you never run out of CPU power.
The most advanced one (current a 3 ghz PIV) is always my daw. But the other ones are handy to have around. The third one from the left is a 800mhz PIII wich besides from functioning as my win2000 server is very useful as host for the editing software for my Micro Modular (wich isn't maintained anymore and has some serious problems on win XP with Cubase SX).
And if I could run out of CPU I could always link my 1.7 ghz PIV (second one from the left) with FX Teleport. However I am more inclined to install FreeBSD on that one. The 3 ghz performs very well.

Ahh. The box on the far side looked like a computer too.
Wish I had a job where I could collect that stuff. Nice setup you have.
