Well with no hard evidence I hate to say that's pretty good logic. f**k.mandolarian wrote:Because to buy up and shut down great tech companies in total secret silence is Apple's MO.BetaAltairVII wrote:On a serious note - skimming over the last dozen pages it seems most have assumed a buyout by Apple. I don't see any hard evidence of this though - why were people supposed to assume this from Chris Randall's tweets?
I'm in the same boat as y'all though, hoping that it isn't the case. There's no way they wouldn't make that Logic-only, and I use Live 9 on PC.
And because other plugin vendors have said that if they'd bought Camel Audio, they'd be shouting about it from the rooftop. (if they have one)
And because Camel did so well on iTunes. And because they have sooooooo much money to throw around and kill good products just to get a few points playing VP ping pong.
And yes, they would make Applechemy OSX only. And that would be the good altruistic Apple to even do that.
My guess is grab IP, kill all existing products, garner more ill-will and later play the victim card, with "The richest corporation in the world needs love too. Buy more iPads!"
Might as well learn how to use this demo of Absynth then!

This is KVR where rumors spread faster than wildfire. The only thing we know for certain is the site is basically shut down and July 7th all service will stop.
Other than than, it's speculation.

Shoulda got it... I will be using it until the Win 21 police pry it out of my cold dead virtual machine.Mojo42 wrote:That`s only human. Don`t worry much about ithibidy wrote:The sad thing is that now that I can't have it, I want it
There's nothing like it to fill the void.

I care. In case you were asking. Read the above post. There is no synth like Alchemy - it's not just another VA clone.D Midas wrote:Who cares,
There are 100's of other amazing soft synths out ther to make music with.
I for one have far too many tools as it is
Move along
You move along and download the Alchemy Player and find out for yourself. Oh, wait...you can't.
It's not the end-of-the-world, but it's the end of my fav synth. So it hurts.
Thanks for caring.

Hey just a heads up for you guys.....
Make sure if you are downloading the files that they actually install correct. My first download of Alchemy seemed to all be fine and seemed to install normally. But when I went to open it in my hosts, it crashed the hosts. I then re-downloaded it using the Camel installer program and this time it worked. So for me, even though I had it all downloaded something prevented it from installing correctly. Glad I checked now and not after July.

I'm convinced that someone could get grant money and use this thread as the basis of their proposal. Perhaps the study could be on the human mental effects from loss of digital items... or a study into reactions and human personality through loss in the digital age... something along those lines.Mojo42 wrote:That`s only human. This whole thread seems to more show people's general thoughts.. how they go about life.. glass half full, glass half empty, there is no glass at all, etc, than it does anything about Camel Audio.

Hmm...a guy on this forum (http://forum.cakewalk.com/The-end-of-Ca ... 14-p3.aspx) has a fairly reasonable-sounding point that Apple doesn't need CA's technology, as they apparently have enough prowess in designing Logic's current library that they could design an Alchemy-esque device themselves if they wanted to. I can't judge the veracity of such a claim (or his claims about Logic's library) as again I'm only familiar with Live. What say y'all?

How many people here spend any serious amount of time making music on iOs hardware???? How could **this** be 'the interesting question'???
There are 160 PAGES of forum chatter that all happened in well less than a week - do you honestly think that the future possibilities of *any* iOs app could BEGIN to generate that much 'interest'??
The SAD thing is that there's a decent chance that the folks at Apple agree with you here, and rumour has it they have given Camel Audio at least 10 million reasons to BURY the thing that is ACTUALLY INTERESTING to us, which is the full blown Alchemy - a Major synth that THOUSANDS of us are into for several hundred dollars, that has just gone from verging on a major version update to totally unsupported, with no warning whatsoever.
Geez.
Sorry, but that made me emotional. I'll take a few deep breaths now, and go back to making music. On my ACTUAL COMPUTER, haha

I wish Camel Audio was bought by the Celemony company.
Alchemy with Melodyne technology inside would be...
A melt together of Studio One with Melodyne DNA and Alchemy would be more than nice
But this is just whishes...

It's not that hard!
An iPad air has 'plenty' enough power to do some fairly serious work - and there's a few well-made apps that allow a muso like me to get some actual work done!
Great sketch pad - and super portable! And you can even use the friggin' thing as a synth module in a pinch!
No BS!
Nope: doesn't replace the PT system - surprised? Lol! But it does do a heck of a lot more then an old Teac 3340'S and Yamaha mixer!
