IMO, none of the "flagship" type synths has the sound quality that Massive X has.

Can't argue about taste, though.

what about alchemy. because I had the camel 5000 which was based on that synth and camel 5000 became alchemy.

Honestly it's kind of really simple in the end: just drag a macro assignment (which are _always_ present) to anything you'd like and you're done. Like yeah removing one step from the process would be nicer but the way it works now isn't really super inconvenient.

Sounds glorious to me! Then again, I'm not playing it using my iPhone's speaker for output......

Truly a different beast from Pigments, which I really love.

You can never have too many wavetable synths..... or wavetables. ;)

I always test new software by seeing what its Alien Contact patch sounds like. This is an absolutely critical path test for me.

Massive X passes it with flying saucer colors: spectacularly '50's sci-fi, especially using the mod wheel.

The test of the UI will be after use for some time; I can see how for some it might be daunting at first, but it's nicely laid out from a pure usability and signal path point of view. Embellishments can come later.

I'd recommend a "dark mode" for people who have laptops that can run this (not mine). Apple and other devs are currently making lots of apps with very white screens, and that really drains battery, fast!

Congrats to the devs for getting this monster out the door!

Click on the name of the wavetable (to the left or right of "Dual Wavetable" title label).

Anything that's underlined is a menu.

This thread is moving fast, did anyone share the Syntorial synth spotlight for Massive X yet?

So about custom wavetables, it is possible right? I'm figuring that you need to load them into a wavetable folder but I can't find one? Where is it by default?

I'd like a dark mode too, but in their FAQ they state the following:
5. Will it feature custom colors / skins?

We spent a lot of time designing the interface to be powerful but clear, building on MASSIVE’s saturn knob system. We decided customized colors got in the way of this clear interface

My verdict too, this thing rocks! Just spending 15 minutes with it, everything I've checked sounds good. It passes all my tests, and I still haven't learned how to load a freking wt, haha

Every synth will have its idiosyncrasies, but there have been several additive synth plugins. Surely, some of those will create similar sounds to the K5000?

No custom WTs. There's plenty coming along with it, why not first explore those?

Still nothing, I see sine that is underlined, but there are 4 options, 3 tris and something else, nothing like a long list of st. Selecting them does nothing noticeable and doesn't change the big wavetable slider that has the sin/saw/square default graphics.

I wouldn't with a mere synthesizer. Massive I was doing 6 or 8.
I do over 30 with BFD3 and VSL Synchron. These have mixers. I automate 0 of the former that isn't fr. a mixer, except for CC for variable hihat(s).
Yep, it does make sense with plugins that have their own mixers, like drum samplers.

Thanks for confirming my point :)
It's not the total quantity, it's the inconvenience of not being able to simply automate a parameter directly.
I agree, we shouldn't have to setup a macro, or frankly, even adjust our performance settings to be able to modulate another parameter. Sixteen macros is not very many from a performance POV to begin with; that's two pages on Maschine.

There might be a gui bug. There is no underlined text, but, if I click the empty space to the right or left of dual wavetable a menu pops up, but there is only wavetable 1 highlighted. Maybe a fresh install?
