Yep, I can confirm the resonance isn't being drawn properly on those models, thanks for spotting this, won't take long to fix.Yorrrrrr wrote:Hey Andy, downloaded 1.0.11. I'm not sure if the resonance on the LP filter (and its display) is working properly on the MS1 HD, MS2 HD and PRD HD models. Can you check?

No, I just discovered the filters are in the wrong order as well, so the sound is wrong. There will be an update out within the hour!Yorrrrrr wrote:The display is wrong indeed. But, is the sound on the resonance ok?

It's strange but Drop lost its authorisation when I upgraded to this new version, had to do it again,
now I've used 2 / 5 of my authorisations ... Not a big deal I guess but strange nevertheless

circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

I had to update the windows machine id generation, so sorry for triggering another auth. The new system is working well and not generating any duplicate ids, so I've now reset everyones authorisation count back to zero so there is a fresh start with a proved working system. Existing authorisation will continue to work until your next minor version update, at which time you will be asked to authorise again and will trigger your 1st auth.penguinfromdeep wrote:It's strange but Drop lost its authorisation when I upgraded to this new version, had to do it again,

I haven't looked through the 164+ pages to see if this has been addressed, but does the latest version recall automation written with the beta version? I have a couple of tracks where I use automation at the beginning in logic and the parameters are shifted when logic opens the session (so instead of drive being automated, resonance is automated, etc).

No, I had to change the order of the parameters because I split the single drive control into 2 and also made a few other changes. You can load both the old and new plugin at the same time, just rename the main part of the old plugin to "The Drop legacy" instead of "The Drop" and keep the same extension and then run the new installer and your old projects will be left as they are. Please email me if you run into any trouble: www.cytomic.com/contactmasterhiggins wrote:I haven't looked through the 164+ pages to see if this has been addressed, but does the latest version recall automation written with the beta version? I guess I'm in a minority who like to have licenses activated on a USB dongle (not ELicenser or iLok, but plain old USB thumb drive e.g. Waves or Plugin Alliance). Any chance we can get that option in the future? It simplifies working on machines that are offline.andy-cytomic wrote:I had to update the windows machine id generation, so sorry for triggering another auth. I cannot provide support for a usb drive authorisation system, I've just spent a long time sorting out this one and need to get on with writing new plugins. At some stage in the future once I've grown the business it may be an option, but only if there is a secure way to identify a usb drive, which I don't think there is unless the usb drive is a dongle, and I don't want to go there.Nightpolymath wrote:I guess I'm in a minority who like to have licenses activated on a USB dongle (not ELicenser or iLok, but plain old USB thumb drive e.g. Waves or Plugin Alliance). Just jumping in to help you out: All USB drives have a serial number, which can be read using APIs on any OS. Tie the authentication to the serial number of that drive, and make sure the drive ID and the auth matches, and you'll be sure they only put the auth on one device.andy-cytomic wrote:I cannot provide support for a usb drive authorisation system, I've just spent a long time sorting out this one and need to get on with writing new plugins. I am pretty sure that what's being read is a "USB device serial number", and that all USB devices have one, so I don't think there's any way for people to change the serial number of their USB drives.
Here's how to implement it:
* Writing: User selects target drive -> You read its USB device serial number -> Generate an auth and store it as a file on that USB drive.
* Reading: User selects auth file from USB drive -> You detect that it's of the type "USB authorization" and check what disk it's on -> You read the serial number of the USB device corresponding to that drive location -> You now know whether the auth is on the correct USB device or not.
I am pretty sure this is exactly how Waves implemented their USB disk authentication alternative, since I can't think of any other ways to uniquely identify USB disks.
Love.

USB (storage) device serial numbers can be changed with the right software (and not only talking about the volume id).
The USB protection Waves (and Plugin Alliance) is using is clonable.
