I think this is the one I'll go for when we make it to the next level :D
As JavaJ said, the 100bpm set has some. So do the70bpm, 120bpm, and 240bpm sets (I didn't find any while skimming through the 180, but maybe I missed them (or maybe there aren't any)).

I am a jazz musician, and my opinion is that the quality is pretty good. I would never use them in a track (just my preference), but they are proving to be very useful for practicing.

Yeah, but think the 1GB library just turned into choices instead of the mystery library..

FYI - at our current pace, we'll hit 8x1 around 0800 GMT on Tuesday.

If they continue to leave it uncapped (meaning they announce 9x1 if we get another 1000 users), we'd hit that point before the June 6 deadline.

We'd even have a legitimate shot at yet ANOTHER thousand users beyond that before it's over. So if they keep it uncapped, there would be a shot at 10x1...

I have to agree, Stephan326,

It seemed when I started following this thread and joined esoundz earlier this month, that there was talk of bonuses that would kick in at different points throughout the GB, but seem to have changed as things progressed.

But it seemed like poor form to complain about free stuff, and I actually felt a little bad pressing for info about what's happening with the 7x1 bonus that was supposed to be ON TOP of the wild card set, as I posted earlier. But it seems now as if the high spirits from the early part of the buy are crashing and making SR and IK feel unappreciated and less excited about the bonuses.

Zedd has been a wonderful interpreter of the various signs and omens coming from misc. gods(z?), and I truly thank you for that! But even you added IF and when about the Wild Card set.
Official word has been confusing and sometimes contradictory, some folks got libraries others didn't, and several direct questions from me about what to expect and when weren't addressed at all, while others about duplicate content or more aesthetic concerns were.

Again, I don't want to seem ungrateful! I actually posted a BIG thank you to all concerned companies, KVRers and staff earlier this week when I felt the thread getting too focused on what's NOT there or not being able to use epointz, etc.
But having bought with esoundz based on what now seems like a moving target isn't what I expected.

Maybe we all just need to take a breath and remember why we do this: the camaraderie and the sense of community that makes this GB/Forum special, as all the WAY cool user demos and patches demonstrate!

Squids, you are still the man, PLEASE just share what you know when you know it (or ESPECIALLY when you don't) and the confusion factor will go WAY down.

Thanks again for giving me a soapbox...

Hey torgo,

I don't know if it's been mentioned here, but pay attention to the end of this quote (which I made bold) from the IK website:

"In less than two months, Xpansion Tank 2 Group Buy has surpassed 5,000 registrations and IK is now giving away SEVEN Xpansion Tank 2 for the price of ONE! With such demand, IK is extending the Group Buy until June 6th. But it doesn't end there, if another 1,000 registrations come in before June 6th, the Group Buy increases to 8 for 1. That's IK's final offer!"

(URL:) http://www.ikmultimedia.com/Main.html?x ... /index.php

So, it sounds from the quote above that 8x1 will be the end from IK; no 9x1 or 10x1. If there is any other bonus to be had, it will have to come from, well, does anybody have any candidates they'd like to nominate? :D

At this point, I'm interested just to know it exists - never mind whether it's an option as part of the group buy. He clearly had something definite in mind, knowing quite well what sounds he was talking about. I'd like to know more about that potential future product.

And if it DID turn into a choice from a list, they really do need to correct/update the details on their web site.

Also, there were earlier references (might have been on the Zynewave or Reaper forum) to esoundz throwing an extra sound set for those who already have the full version of SampleTank and didn't need XT.

I wonder what became of that idea, if it was legit to begin with. Apparently that one vanished along with the 25 epointz for a second sign-up through esoundz and the extra bonuses for 1000 esoundz users.

Thanks for the info, Joe. If there isn't anything past 8x through IK, I wonder what (edit - it was NOT Peter) meant when he encouraged us to go for 8x "and beyond".

I hope he wasn't yanking our chains with that one.

Regardless, 8x1 is a heck of a deal. Especially with a 9th set (and maybe more - details still completely unclear) through esoundz.

Scratch that. The "and beyond" wasn't from Peter.

Okay, so 8x1 it is, and we're pretty much a slam dunk to hit it.

Post

We just need to make darn sure that Squids and Peter know we appreciate this deal.. We are just asking questions that is all.

Yeah, I think we have now reached the "and beyond" part with the soon-to-be-realized 8x1. 8)

In anticipation of reaching 8x1, I need to decide on whether to choose OmniSynth 2 or the Piano Collection 2 as one of my selections. Since I already have Piano Collection 1, I realize that I will only be getting a couple of additional pianos. And with Omnisynth 2, I know that I probably have many identical instruments in Sonik Synth 2 (and I already have the original Omnisynth).

Does anyone, who is familiar with Sonik Synth 2, know just how much non-overlapping content is included in Omnisynth 2? The ID conflicts drive me crazy, so I really don't want to install the overlaps. Maybe I should just go for the Piano Collection to get the 2-3 new pianos?

I think it became the new Tron collection. It does have lots of unreleased material and appeared just as mention of the Wild Card stopped.

torgo, You make my point so much BETTER than I do!

I guess I joined and bought on esoundz based on posts from the forum, and a have felt a little lost as bonus milestones come and go without 2nd mention.
It's still an AMAZING deal, but was expecting 1gb unreleased content for the wild card, something else when we hit 1000 at esoundz, and another bump at 5000 at IK. If you say it here as a company rep, I believe it.
Am I wrong?

Thanks for the heads-up that Omnisynth might overlap the Sonik Synth 2 sound list. I'll have to check the sound lists for repeats, but even that won't help with duplicates.

On the Piano Collection 2 - there are only THREE new parent sounds not included in our originals, and two of them (Granduation Day and Acoustic Grand) are duplicates of each other.

Even though good pianos are my top priority, I'm probably going to have to make that one of my six "scratch" items. It's tough to justify passing up another set just for two new piano samples.

Another hard question will be whether we want any of the grooves collections in R.A.W. format (as our esoundz bonus) instead of in SampleTank format.

Since SampleTank can import WAV files, a R.A.W. collection seems like it would be better - if I decided I really cared about a loop/groove set. We could still use it with SampleTank, but we'd be able to load the Rex and WAV files into anything else as well.

And another one: do we go with the Sonik Capsules: Studio Drums set from esoundz or go with the Acoustic Drums Collection from IK? They're apparently the same exact sound set, so I certainly don't want to do both. The Sonik Capsules version can convert for other samplers besides SampleTank, so it might be a better option - depending on what other choices from esoundz we'd have to pass up to get it.

For that matter, I may have to think about simply buying the Sonik Capsules guitar 3-pack ($87 from esoundz) after this group buy is over. If I did, that would scratch the Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, and Bass collections from my IK list... (It may sound odd to spend $87 to save three choices in a $50 group buy, but I could use epointz to get it. And again, the Sonik Capsules versions work with many other samplers besides SampleTank, where the ExpansionTank versions are SampleTank only.)

Plus... Squids says we'll be hearing about a whole new group buy next week, so patience might turn out to be a big-time virtue here. The next group buy might alter our choices. We have 30 days to decide our IK choices, so there's no rush. Waiting for more info could be a big help in making those strategic decisions.

Has it really appeared? To my knowledge, the Tron thing hasn't been mentioned as a choice on the esoundz web site.

Heads-up for anyone considering this Tron set, if it's really an option:

There have been two earlier (actually three) Mellotron related products. SR did "Squids' Tron Collection Vol 1" a few years ago. And now we also have the SampleTron instrument in the SampleTank family.

What you REALLY, REALLY need to know is that this extra Tron set (if it's the one I saw listed in earlier posts) is simply the difference between the two. It's not a new set of previously unreleased material. It's just the set of stuff from Squids Tron Collection vol 1 that was not included in SampleTron.

That means it won't be a particularly "complete" set. If you have neither of the other products, you might very well be disappointed by what you DON'T get out of it. All the "major" Tron sounds (the Strawberry Fields flutes, the Nights In White Satin strings, etc) are already in both of the other products, so they probably WON'T be in this extra fill-in set.

Side note: I said there were actually three Tron products. There was also an original Expansion Tank set called MelloZone. (I bought that one too, plus I now have SampleTron. And I paid $180 for Squids' Tron Collection when it first came out. I'm extremely well stocked with 'Tron sounds.)
