Fixed here for me. Logic 10.2.1 Did an Uninstall / Install with the new 1.0.6 (downloaded from my user area on UVI). Standalone and the AU Instrument in Logic both working fine now. Thanks for the quick fix.mdsp wrote:It's a hot-fix so we're keeping 1.0.6. both versions have been reuploaded.

Soundbanksbutton-error fixed, but one futher question:
Yesterday i worked on a project and used a preset from the digital synsation bank. I changed e few parameter. Today i opened the project, started to play the project and see that there was no sound from falcon! So, i look into the plugin gui and see that the sliders from the soundbank-gui are lost. Only dark space left! The value-bars and the inserted modulations are still the manipulated from yesterday. Only sound and sliders lost. Anyone an idea?

So after 169 pages...what's the verdict...is it worth the money?

For me, definitely! Love the increased flexibility and variety of sound that you can get out of it, that are not present with other synths/samplers. I haven't found another synth/sampler that has as deep sound design possibilities as Falcon, and with very high quality!BasariStudios wrote:So after 169 pages...what's the verdict...is it worth the money?

As a general all purpose synth, an absolute yes. In fact, it is my favorite all around all purpose synth out of everything I own which includes the following:BasariStudios wrote:So after 169 pages...what's the verdict...is it worth the money?

However, let me say this. I'm currently working on a major project with a 3rd party who I can't name at this time. It is a sound library for both Falcon and Serum using wavetables that we've created. I've tried to duplicate the patches made in Serum in Falcon as closely as possible.
Here are my findings.
Serum, as a dedicated wavetable synth is superior to Falcon in spite of its poorer FX.
The reason comes down to the phase distortion parameters.
Here are Falcon's
PWM
PWM2
PWM2 +
Bend +
Bend -
Bend +/-
Formant
Synform
Fuzzy
Resoform
Here are Serum's
Sync
Sync half
Synch full
Bend +
Bend -
Bend +/-
PWM
Asym +
Asym -
Asym +/-
Flip
Mirror
Remap
Quantize
FM
RM
AM
And of course, Falcon's limted to 8 voice unisoon while Sersum goes as far as 16 voice unison.
And there are other little things.
Bottom Line: When comparing the sounds of the two, using the same wavetables, for the more complex patches, Serum has a fuller sound. In order to duplicate that in Falcon, I'd have to use more wavetables and other things. Yes, I could make a sound as good or better in Falcon, but it would require a lot more work whereas it takes very little to make Serum sound good.
So if I'm interested in making wavetable like patches with their corresponding characteristics, and time is an issue, I'll choose Serum because I can get those results faster. If time is not an issue and I can really work on producing one kick ass sound using 12 wavetables and God knows what else, then yes, Falcon is vastly superior in its potential, even without some of the warp/phase distortion options.
But I will say this, and yes, this is a feature request, PLEASE add more phase distortion options, especially sync. They will help a lot.

You can always load up the second instance of the oscillator in series to beef it up with another 8 voices of unison, if you want... And keep adding oscillators to get even more unison...wagtunes wrote:And of course, Falcon's limted to 8 voice unisoon while Sersum goes as far as 16 voice unison.
Also you can unison up the whole synth structure if you want (at Layer level - and it goes up to 256 voices here!), but that can quickly munch a ton of CPU.
