Would it be possible to choose as well the synth to be monophonic or not? as there's no portamento (unless I'm blind & :idiot: ) and I like to glide between notes.
Don't know about the real hardware though...
No glide/portamento on the original stuff.
Maybe that Vintager, the other synth fro TAL, has this feature ?

there seems to be a low-level, but noticeable, static-like noise on the chorus.

is this intended?

thanks, btw, for a very nice instrument.

The dev' is aware of that and already improved it throught the previous versions. :)
Do you have the latest? Should be 1.1.2 now.

That's what I was afraid of :(

yup, v1.1.2.

thanks.

yah ill ask again for a good mono and mono legato mode, for all us wind controller players!

Yeah let's make it better than the original :D

What do you guys think about historical-accuracy vs expanding the possibilities of the original?

I can dig why some would want it to be exactly like a real Juno 60, even the limitations, but on the other hand, it would be sweet to have the other features.

IMO the emulation should stay that way & there should also be a advanced version with all the extras we have come to love over the years

i got used to portamento on my 106. but i would have to agree with djsubject.

I think sticking with the hardware gives a direction to that instrument.
Adding new features might make it a 1.0.1 vintage synth, without a specific flavour, like there are plenty around feature-wise.
The combination of positive and negative aspects of that specific synth is what makes it unique, and bring some creativity out of its apaprent "flaws" (you can do this and that, but not this and that, etc).
I mean : if you had glide, why not adding also a sinewave osc ? I like sinewaves a big lot, but this doesn't seem to fit in the "Juno paradigm".
I like the concept of emulation for this synth, and sticking to the original stuff (this is why i'd like to have an arpggiator) ;)
But it is all up to TAL, after all.

Post

Keep it an emulation! Simply because there isn't another one as good.

There are tonnes of VA synths out there with extra features.

Or maybe the extra stuff can opened from a hidden panel of something :D

That's what I'm thinking. Why limit the synth to the original features? Minimoog VA and Minimonsta are both much more feature packed than the original Minimoog.
The sound needs to be emulated as close as possible, but there's no harm in adding useful extra features (and keeping them out of sight for the total emulation lovers :hihi: ).

Thats my opinion too. A hidden panel with features would be cool, but i think that makes this synth too complex.

Its better to do a completely new Synth with an other concept and improving the existing features(adding an arp some time...).

The SH-101 would be a cool mono synth to emulate with a portamento mode and unique features(as modulator with noise input). If i can borrow it from a friend im trying to do an emulation of this synth... otherwise i do something like a Vintager 2 :)
