Thanks. Yep, just the ds10 and me playing over the loop. It's the kaoss pad that makes the ds10 a lot more powerful, you can make some pretty complex sounds and tweak the patterns to oblivion... I haven't even gone into the assignable ones yet. I still haven't worked out that lfo trick to make patterns seem longer than 16 beats though...Dogboy73 wrote:Sounds pretty damn good to me ...... are you sure this is the DS-10??!musikmachine wrote:Here's a short clip: http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?id=14680
Its' just me jamming over a loop. Sorry about the lousy playing but i think the ds sounds pretty good, you can get some nice synth lines and the drums don't sound bad either. I added some reverb and compression and the white noise is from the edison demo.
Korg DS-10 !!!

ahhhhw..
and i was just about to ask you if the white noise was made with the DS.
'cause i like white noise and other minimal sounds
anyways, the ds-10 is like a dream come true.. when it comes down to have
a ultra portable studio setup - for minimal house/electro/techno.
i wonder if i should stop making music with my PC, and go 100% DS-10
can't wait to get my copy of the korg DS-10,
together with the eeePC, and the korg nano-series of midi-controllers
this will be a tiny-killer-studio
the only thing left, which isn't small or portable..
are the studio monitor speakers

Received mine last Friday.
It is fun but don't get carried away with terms like "mobile studio setup".
The sequencing is pretty limited and the only param automation is volume, pan, cutoff and peak. Song creation is not very flexible either.
The sound is ok but don't expect a lot of depth or dynamics.
It's still fun though and good for quick techno-ish composing or sketching. The limitations can be a help as much as a hindrance.
Overall it's a feck of a lot more fun messing around with on the train than it is doing fecking dr. watchemefeckingcallit brain training nonsense.

It's good but not that good to replace your entire soft studio!bambooman wrote:NICE TUNEmusikmachine wrote:Here's a short clip: http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?id=14680

You only have 6 parts and like spaceman sez, automation is limited. There's also a bit of lofi noise you can hear when you play individual bits but yeah you can get some really nice sounds out of it, run em through some fx and your smilin'

The DS-10 does two things for me:
1) Gives me a good reason to get a DS-Lite, which is apparently the preferred flavor of the GB for Nanoloop...
2) Another mobile screw-off-pad.

Nanoloop 2.2 is very good, and 2.3 just came out._oswald wrote:Rly?Kriminal wrote:negatory good buddy._oswald wrote:So I've been peeking around on the 'net, anyone else chomping at the bit to get a DS-10 on October 14th?

Ds-10 is really amazing considering you can bring it anywhere and make basslines or 'sine' beats. Sequencer is cool. Very impressed Korg teamed up with Nintendo.

getting a DS is a good enough reason NOT to get it.....i already have a PC, so i may as well spend the money on the Legacy Edition and get the MS-20 if i so wanted..._oswald wrote:Rly?Kriminal wrote:negatory good buddy._oswald wrote:So I've been peeking around on the 'net, anyone else chomping at the bit to get a DS-10 on October 14th?

I bought a Nintendo DS because of this. Got a JP import version of the DS-10 since I was too impatient to wait for the US release. And a few weeks into it, I am blown away. This thing is SO much fun. The limitations are not a problem in my mind. If anything they force you to be more creative and spend less time f-ing around with unimportant stuff. It's my escape valve now, I can bring it anywhere. no need to boot this or that, or look for the latest drivers and so on. just power it on. slap on your headphones and tweak away and enjoy. regardless where you are.
If anyone is on the fence on this one I highly recommend taking the plunge. the hardware and ds-10 combined is still less what you have probably dished out for many vst's in the past couple of years.
Korg/Nintendo, this is a masterpiece! More power to you.

I should get a hold of Oliver - I remember him offering to upgrade my NL 2.01 cart to 2.2 'free of charge', just paying for post..:illanoise:. wrote: Nanoloop 2.2 is very good, and 2.3 just came out.

I think it's worth it for the homebrew as well but yeah the ds-10 rocks. I hadn't even thought of nanoloop but is it relly worth 65 euros? Be interesting to see where they take things next with the ds...x3em wrote:I bought a Nintendo DS because of this. Yes. Yes it is. NanoLoop excels at bleeps that would be painstaking for me to get any other way. I've loved my 2.01 'cart for about five years and wouldn't sell it for the life of me.
