Another minor complaint about Spire.

The Preset init doesn't clear all the parameters and when you are dealing with multiple env's and a complicated mod matrix its easy to forget that some of those parameters aren't being cleared and affect the sound as well as affect the cpu hit.

I am therefore asking Reveal to consider a true preset init.
At the moment I have my own preset that I load prior to any programming which does what it says on the can but given the fact that Reveal have a dedicated init on the gui it would probably be better if it cleared everything.
Having said that compared to Dune for example where the init preset was contained rather laughably in its 3rd or 4th bank lol say no more :)

Also I am not very happy about how Spire reacts in Ableton Live, currently it doesn't directly reveal any Synth parameters for automation.
So live users have to click on the midi learn but its all a bit weird.
Uhe got around this limitation by including an X/Y pad which I think was really cool.

I am still digging Spire despite some minor flaws its a great Synth with lots of untapped sound potential.
I am still asking myself why I like the Spires sound so much and have come to the conclusion it sounds as close to the Access Virus in so many ways.
And if you like solid Bass Sounds (like myself) , forget Sylenth, Dune and other such puny Synths.
Spire cuts the mustard :)

I agree & have been enjoying the demo, been a long time since even that happened. The whole top left side is cool, and the saturation types are very good.

I'd love to give it a try, but now that they have a released product, their Web site has been down for days. Not a great way to launch a product.

Yes I've tried twice today to download the demo and it has failed.......

I've tried three times in the past 3 weeks to just get to the site...no luck even doing that ;P

It's probably a temporary problem I would imagine. I had no trouble when I bought it last week, nor any problem just now when I tried again...

Good Luck! I'm enjoying it!

Ya no problems here, I just re-checked and the download is available.
Maybe their host server is playing up to certain countries/regions.?

Keep trying guys its worth it. ;)

I have no problems getting to the site. I think Spire sounds really good and I like the layout. It just seems logical to me. Not sure if I'm ready to hand over the cash just yet though. I'll play around with it a bit more. The intro price is reasonable, but I don't think I'd fork out 139 euro for it. How long does the intro price last?

There's something odd about their website. It just times out on my home AT&T VDSL and phone AT&T 4G, but it works fine via VPN, Facebook post previews, and IsUp.me.

Spire sounds fantastic. Won't buy it if the dev can't be reached, though. :?

Thanks for the confirmation that its not just me! 😜😄... That's just a tad odd, innit?

Their server is currently not accessible from many countries. Click this link to see:

Thanks Frantz - you just reminded me I could use a proxy. :)

Anyone else, you can hit the site from http://hidemyass.com (I didn't pick the domain name...) and get the demo that way.

As far as the synth goes, not bad, but not a $139 EUR synth at present. Maybe a $49 EUR synth. I would have preferred to see all oscillators at once, and it needs an arpeggiator/gate. Sound quality is pretty good; with a little more attention to finishing it, I could see it competing with Dune and ANA. CPU wasn't too rough in Reaper. but I haven't tried it in Live yet.

Ok, in Live I can see what you folks are talking about WRT CPU hit. Many of the pad patches were taking up to 30%. Reaper, it was more like 5-6%.
