Every time I see the title of this thread I read it as, "Bitwig's Big Adventure," as in, Peewee. :D

SupaCat probably is a protagonist in it.
Bitwig's and SupaCat's misadventures. Story about two abnormal loonies running a vapour factory.

That's so pretty. Gives 'fluff' notes a whole new meaning.

This seems in contrast to the other firms that are marketing and sales driven. So they approached marketing in a completely different (backwards?) manner.. but their consumer base is not used to that. Nor are they used to waiting for so long.

Actually, I'm not even sure they have a fulltime marketing/sales person(s)... it might be all developers there... hence the unusual marketing concepts.
I've worked for a couple of companies like that. Great ideas, but little knowledge of how the market works.

One of them got things off the ground, delivered and started the build the business. Unfortunately the creditors came knocking once huge debts had built up and the company had little option but to fold, even though they had a good product.

And getting developers to give estimates of when they will complete a piece of work?
Maybe they are in talks with Ableton...

It will be nothing short of epic. :)

You'll be 67 and someone will ask.... "Do you remember where you were when Bitwig got released?" :hihi:
I'm laughing so hard right now. This is so true.

Kind of like a self-help group? Marketing-challenged companies anonymous? Or more like the blind leading the blind?

The Abes have bungled every single recent release I've seen. From general buggyness and faux 'open-betas' (getsatisfaction, lol), right though to confusing pricing and doubling back on promises and post-launch dropped features.

I think the bitwiggers are doing fine, marketing wise. The Feline Armies of Darkness are keeping the buzz going better than any marketing campaign could hope, and for free.

Yes, there's the irritation on all sides about the delays and the cat pics (depending on your side), but at the end of the day, even those that otherwise had no interest will try it out, just so they can keep b*tching about it.

It will indeed be epic.

The correct answer is will it be released BEFORE I'm 67. Didn't see that coming, did you?
