[eta] Done. Here's a new thread for discussing DJs and what they do or don't do. T-CM11, your post is first in the thread so you can change the subject line if you like. Please leave the part in [square brackets] so it'll be clear where the new thread came from.

As someone on Radio 4 once said (about 20 years ago):
A woman must be twice as good as any man to be considered his equal. Fortunately this isn't difficult.
None of the really dumb people I knew when I was young are young any more.

I like learning about people's working philosophy, it's just that I felt there were parts in that video that seemed to be where the audio content of what she was making should be, yet I heard what I thought was just ambient sounds (not ambient music). I also wanted to know why all that magnetic tape was being spewed onto the floor in the one shot. The camera work is ... not my favorite for documentation work. It seemed there was a little bit o French new wave in there, maybe... ;-)

I agree. I listened to the drones and I quite liked them, but, they are very subtle and I didn't get much out of the film. I also wondered why the tape was spooling onto the floor. After listening to her piece I wanted more out of the description of her process.
I don't think the film was really meant for people who did not already have at least some familiarity with Eliane's work, but for those of us who do it was great to watch her at work and hear her talk about her methods.
