the rule is "Use one or the other, but not both".

I would greatly appreciate it if the rules clearly stated the rules.

The rules appear to say that this month's competition is using extremely similar "synths," plural.
This has been raised several times this month, by several folks. Some have even gone back and changed their entry to keep it to just one of the synths.
As it is a bit unclear in the opening post, my feeling is we should allow this entry.

How about a quick forum vote - Next ten posts say yay or nay.

I'm afraid the rule is "Use one or the other, but not both".
 Well, Peter:H, that really puts a damper on things.

My apologies for misunderstanding this.
I was just repeating what has been reported a few times in this thread ... first time it was mentioned on page 1,
viewtopic.php?p=8441852#p8441852
viewtopic.php?p=8441916#p8441916
then i remember a few other times the same question was asked and I think some guys even changed their tracks accordingly ... I'd say bad luck that you missed these previous messages... I'm only the messenger ... please don't kill the messenger.

nay - some people even changed their tracks. I'd say it's weird to tell some people to change their tracks to be in the rulez and then relax rulez later. sorry.

My vote: YES

Post

yay (i don't love either option but it's an honest mistake)

it has been clarified at least three times in this thread already, but perhaps it can't be expected that every participant follows every post here. i agree that the very first post was ambiguous, and it's probably best to spell out "or" or "one" in the title when we have one of those months to prevent future misunderstandings.

Post

Well, this rule was misunderstood by many participants from the first day, and although it was explained here several times, we can assume that not all participants constantly read the KVR forum. And since a lot of work has been done on the track, for me this outweighs the fact of the error.
I vote to accept the track for voting.

Post

I vote to allow it.

I feel we should follow the rules but after all I think the most important thing is that this is a friendly competition so my vote is YES.

hi there,
my vote is yay just to keep it more diverse, and the difference between the two plugins isn't that big at all. i couldn't install the opn but if so i wonder if i wouldn't have used both.

Well the tally is 6-1 now for allowing the track. So 574x is In!
I have sympathy with both sides of the debate, and acknowledge that we must try harder in future to avoid ambiguities like this right from the start.

Thanks, everyone. Apologies all around.

I voted for all tracks! There was not a single one that I thought was trash or low-effort. Even the ones that least resonated with me seemed to have some effort put in. Great job, everyone!

Post

I have voted.

So high quality round again so not looking good for my chances to climb higher from the bottom of final scoresheet :hihi:
